This weekend, at NeXen 2011, Electronic Sahara were disqualified after a fight between Guillaume "Geno" Ntep and a LDLC.com official broke out.
According to an official statement by Electronic Sahara, the fight broke loose after a quarrel between Guillaume "Geno" Ntep and LDLC's female representatives Celine "Celine" Gautier and Alexia "aLx-" Mengus.
While the dispute's subject is unknown, it is being reported that the female team's manager eventually joined the quarrel and physical contact between him and Ntep was established.
Although bystanders quickly managed to break up the fight, the police were shortly after summoned to the scene. However, no legal action will be taken from either side, it seems.
A more friendly Geno (to the right)
eSahara were disqualified from the event some hours later as a result of the whole incident, with NeXen Vice President Jean-Christope Huwette offering no condonation towards Ntep.
They have in addition gone out and said there is no excuse for Ntep's behavior, but also that they regret the fact that the LDLC official felt obliged to intervene.
Ultimately, Millenium went on to win the Counter-Strike tournament, beating GamerLine for first place, which has secured them a slot for the French WCG qualifier later this year.

I : Ok so now the admin's decision was to ban you from the tournament. How do you react towards this decision ?
G : Yeah that's their decision, maybe there are financial interests for them. I'm not all-innocent but i'm not all-guilty too, I mean we were two in this story and we (me and my team) are the ones getting punished...
I : So finally LDLC didn't get a ban from the tournament and nothing happened for them and that maybe is a little unfair. A last word to add maybe ?
G : I'm disappointed things went this way. The lan wasn't so good and that's the cherry on the cake. I've been playing lans for ten years and i never had any problem. After that people can have an "image" of me for any reason, maybe they watch television too much, i have a cap, i live in a suburban area or any kind of bullshit. I never had an argument with nobody, anyone can talk to me, i'm relaxed and thats's all. It just happened in the bad moment and i could not control myself.

G : Well the lan went in a bad way. We were suppose to be many teams then finally we were just 8, the tournament had a lot of delays, a power outage prevented us from finishing the preliminary matchs,... That's a french lan, this stuff happens everytime, i don't care, that's their problem.

So as always, he tried to seduce aLx, got angry after a new "fu dude, you look like a garbage" and Celine (http://live.team-aaa.com/photo/449/) went to help her friend. Insults were heard and a LDLC staff member intervened in the word fight.
Geno chose this moment to say something like "I will never punch a girl, but a guy..." followed by a slap (whouuuuuu!). His opponent replied with a shot point directly in his head!
But, sadly, that is all... The others spectate.. hum no, i would like to say players, stoped them before the blood starts flowing (jackass...)
Then, geno run away, and the police arrived to question some persons.
This is the end of my story :)

Sure, but I presume you will agree that the nature of that backlash is something to take into account. If it is just a quarrel as it happened in this case or risk to go further than that, which is what I think the LDLC guy thought could happen.

It's only fucking bullshit, I'm Nasty in the LDLC female team, I was here when all of that happened, I don't talk about the real meaning of the harassment but in the case of the "racism statement" it's only crap. She wanted to stop the fact that geno stuck alx all the time. He already did that at the last LAN at the Gamers Assembly, he made aLx cry, us (her mates) can't stand of that , for alx and for the competition its not possible to play like that, with a guy who don't stop or understand that she dont want to talk with him. It's not the FIRST time that he do a thing like that, at the Gamers assembly he went to our hotel to find alx, and assaulted some players of team nsydia who partying with us just because they want to calm him.
