This could be one of the many news I wrote about player X leaving team Y. It is not. I hereby announce that I am leaving HLTV.org and esports in general.
I have been involved in esports for so long that I do not even know when it started exactly , but it was around 2002. I started playing Counter-Strike, then went on to writing news, making videos, and it all led to this point. Most of you know me from my work with HLTV.org, some of you probably know me for my work with GotFrag.com, but it started long before that.
I wrote several hundred pieces of news, interviewed many players and had the priviledge to cover onsite many tournaments, in three different continents. I met some great people, some not so great people, but I guess that's life. I will certainly take the best of this experience in my future life, and I have to say that it was esports that helped make the person I am today.
Everything in life must come to an end, and I feel the time has come for me to move on. I have almost completed my degree in journalism, and I have started working for Goal.com and Público (Portuguese newspaper). As you can probably imagine, I don't have much time left for esports, nor the motivation to continue in a business which still seems so small.
I'm proud to have been part of this wonderful industry and I leave with the feeling that I did my best to make esports grow. However, there are many, many obstacles in the way, some of them disguised as "dead serious" managers or tournament organizers, but that's a different story.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark "jESUIT" Cheben and Marc "Nix0n" Winther for believing in me and offering me the chance to work for GotFrag and HLTV.org, respectively. I would also like to thank, you, the user, for reading all the stuff that I wrote in the last seven years or so.
Cheers,
Luís "MIRAA" Mira
Man, we gonna miss you !
I hope everything works out for you.
Wish you the best of luck !

For example - if some child plays on piano all life, people realize it is his/her passion, and apprecieate this. If you play counter strike even less than this child plays a piano - people say you're addicted, and you're waisting your time.
That's what I mean. People won't change their minds, if we don't try to persuade them. Do you get it now ? :)

people thinks that you r playin computer games and u r addicted but the truth is that u r playin only
C0unter-Strike 1.6 and u regards it as a sport or as paula said playin instrument it is your passion and u do what u want to do so it is no addiction.... (my brother is playin piano since 10 years he spend much time on it and it is realy annoying 4 me to listen it whole day but my parents support him in it, but in the other hand i told them that i wanna be proffesional c-s player so that is the reason why i am playin 10h or more a day and they just said that i am addicted and i should go to a doctor beceause i am sick.... what i mean, i just want to say that people cannot understand your passion and will not accept this kind of sport which is a sport 4 me 4 sure....now all haters can say that i am xyz and will never be a pro, KISS MY ASS !!!!)

agree 100 %
Many of us choose to sacrifice some of those more social activities in favour of getting the best entertainment ever.
You just can't sort it black and white.
Some people really should stop playing computer and take a look on the outside.
Besides that I surely agree that counter-strike has become some kind of scapegoat for all kinds of conscious time waste/entertainment.

seriously quit this trolling already.
You guys should be ashamed of yourselves to have this kind of behaviour. Instead of showing some respect to our friend MIRAA and wishing him the best of luck, you guys stan here and troll yourselves out with pointless internet arguments like the ones you're having.
Show some respect and attention for people who are REALLY worth paying attention. Peace
We will miss you MIRaaaa :(
btw gl irl

Move forward and make some blogs here about ur future achievements, alright?))
it was nice to meet you ;) hope the journalism world treats you well
tchau
Never seen a guy with that motivation and dedication as him. His English was perfect (for a Portuguese)and that resulted in some great and interesting blogs and coverage. When he joined the HLTV.org team, I was excited because I knew that the site would get a huge upgrade, coverage- and newsbased ...
Have fun at your job!

You've always been a reference for me and some others news editors here in Brazil. I left this "job" a few years ago and I also feel sad for it being so small until today. You clearly helped the esports world community in all these years.
boa sorte no futuro :)
GL dude, in some years the journal will seem as small as this community and hopefully you will grow even more professionaly.
You did a great job
Good luck in the future MIRA.
Have a nice 'real life' and enjoy
good luck and all the best in your future!!!
Keep on evolving and sometime we may see you in writing articles for the Times, who knows? :)
oh we'll miss u and ur vids! GL
mira.. a great editor.. hltv community will 4 sure miss you..
Gl to the future
Good luck with your life, MIRAA ;)
GL
we will miss u..

GL Luís
Good luck! Goal.com is a site I use every day so thats nice
what a sad thing to say. in other words - esport is dying so why give a shit.
I understand MIRAA won't have time for HLTV anymore but why add such a statement... I guess it's true but has negative meaning for people which still believe in esports and it's evoultion
Hope to see some of your work in the future :)
your retirement is really bad for us..u were the only one that was writing "news" from the brazilian scene..gl with your carreer mira..u are a hell of a writer.
