The Estonian organizers of digifest have in an email informed former participants, who made in into the money that digifest ceased operations and is thereby shutdown.
It's been close to three months since digifest Fall where WinFakt beat 2-0 aNimus in the final took place. The event had a €7,500 prize purse, where €3,000 went to the winners.
In an email sent Tuesday evening to Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen from WinFakt, Martin Veermäe from digifest informed that the event has ceased operations and teams should only dream about their prizes. The email stated the following:
www.digifest.eu is now closed so you can only dream about your "prizes", "moron"
None of the €7,500 from digifest Fall have been paid out, nor the promised hardware prizes. Prizes from the disastrous digifest Solaris event haven't been paid either, which saw Power Gaming take €1,500 and Online Kingdom €1,000.
According to the information gathered by HLTV.org, the organizers of digifest had been wired the prizes from tournament sponsors, but apparently wished to keep the prizes, which add up to €11,500 in total, in their own pockets.
how isn't that surprising?
anyway, the money couldn't have been that important for him and his team. why would they attend an event that failed to pay them prize money earlier? they probably just went there for lan practice and cheap shopping.

Firstly, Lurppis being whatever you think is utterly irrelevant. Legally they are obliged to pay the prizemoney (received from the sponsors) to the winners.
Secondly, the money is probably very welcomed to the entire team, wtf do you know and once again my ignorant friend, them needing the money or not is indeed utterly irrelevant.
Where is the other part of the e-mail?
Have you seen the e-mails lurppis has been spamming out?
Yes it's not nice not to pay out the prizes but I'm sure this was just an angry response provoked by lurppis himself
(i'm not mocozi, i took this digifest name just to point out my opinion)
This article is missing half the information.
and information gathered by hltv.org?
I'd like to see that info - just saying ..
did you ask the sponsors or something?
anyway
gl and hf getting the money back
Even if you are pretty sure that you will win
How can he pay for your lawyers if he has zero money?
And they want their money in-front.
fixed.
btw, they do this things because THEY CAN, simple as that.
Kode5 did the same to CNB and to us, what can you do? nothing.

And this makes good LANS in Estonia even less attractive, not that these earlier LANs in Estonia has been so BIG, but whatever.
They couldnt communicate it in a polite way ?
But tbh someone should sue those people for their ignorance and mutism.
there is something legal that the teams can do?
sorry but it's really digifail.. :/

Very unprofessional company, I wonder if the quote was taken out of context?
Noone can stop those guys...
find him, beat the crap out of him, take all his money, sue him.
Why the fuck I should do that? does he owe me something?
*It was a friendly tip to lurppis
http://www.nordicbots.com/?id=73&net=quakenet&..
(scroll down)
so you can sue and win but you still won't get the money.
It's hard to explain it to you in english but I'll try.
First of all, you can sue someone untill he dies or dosen't exist anymore(companies), I seriously doubt that you have filed bankruptcy. Ah who am I kidding, you are too stupid to do that and I just checked from the register, MTÜ Digifest still exist so that's that.
Even If you do file bankruptcy or someone sues Digifest and it turns up that Digifest has no assets to pay it's debts and bankruptcy process begins, it just dosen't end that simply:
Firstly, Digifest's, as a non-profit organisation(MTÜ), board members are not allowed getting profit for it's actions (obviously). It's allowed to pay salary though, but Again, like mocozi is smart enough to pay the prize money for salary, everyone knows that it's not the case here.
Before court declares bankruptcy, you have to show and prove all your economic actions, where did the money go and what assets digifest has etc. And I seriously doubt that sponsors and TTÜ gave you the money in cash, so all bank transfers are there and you have to show where did the money go etc.
SO, if it turns up that that there were serious management (as there was) faults, the board members responsible for this are punished under the penal code. (fine or short jail time, arrest)
Secondly, even if you magically can prove every economic action and money transfer and everything is legal (which I doubt), you have already violated the law.
You have debts that date back to digifest Paide? (don't know for sure), Digifest Solaris and now Digifest Fall. And it's January 2012 atm, and as it seems, you are aware of your bankruptcy and you are saying that you have no money, as in the forums and in the e-mail to lurrpis (which proves again how stupid mocozi the ginger is), so if that's truly the case, you have violated the law by not filing bankrupcy as soon as it was clear that you are not able to pay your debts. The delay is serious already, you have even had time to say this in the forums and even had time to send abusing e-mails to the people who you are owing money to, but still not had time to file it :O . Would like to see your good explanation in court that holds hahaha. GL. And responsible for delaying filing bankruptcy are also board members, punished by fine or arrest.
And btw, everyone who digifest owes, have right to file bankruptcy for digifest. I reccomend this option for Winfakt, as it's the most cheapest way to make mocozi suffer (if you are 100% sure that there is no way getting your money back). You don't have to pay anything during the bankruptcy proccess, all the cost are taken from digifest.
So either way, if anyone takes legal matters in their hands, you are fucked. Good luck you fucking ginger.
i don't think we never gonna see estonian tournament anymore.

Ofcourse it's not by this thief mocozi.
The asian should be Martin and the others Winfakt players...
To get some things straight, none of the other organizers except a few should be blamed for this. I quit digifest after the Paide event in 2010 due to Martin being a complete incompetent tard and I knew what was going to happen after seeing how "realistic" he is when it comes to money and future plans.
Martin "mcz" Veermäe is solely responsible for how things have turned out as he has no real sense of budget management (although I had no part in the Solaris event, I know the budget was around €10k eur of which he managed to spend around €4-5k on an artist and for building the stage, unfortunately, nobody even knew that artist was part of digifest) and then went on to pay off his personal bank loans with the money he received from sponsors and also picked up two new HTC Wildfires for it. So that's where the Solaris event money went.
As far as what happened with the TTÜ event, nobody knows too clearly yet, but what is clear, is that everything that has happened can easily be blamed on Martin Veermäe, since nobody else handled the money. His total debts that are related to digifest, exceed over €20k right now, starting with the first event.
All of this was just one man's unrealistic vision without any common sense and no real sense of business.
For anyone that wants a face-to-face talk with him, you can find him working in the Finnish Vapiano at Helsinki 1, Mikonkatu 15. :)
Considering I mostly did PR, I wouldn't have liked to PR digifest's way out of that kind of shit after the Solaris and TTÜ event, since that would just have been me cleaning up after his shit. :)
2005 billion dollars were stolen from the public sector last year in Russia.
Fuck off, Pekka. I'd reckon if it's coming from someone named "ahCepT - <3 kestylo" who stands no chance at winning anything from any LAN, ever, his opinion is instantly invalid.
At least the newbs and randomsurfers got to play some CS or whatnot and since they have no hope at any prizes, they generally don't have any complaints. So to clear this up for you, my Finnish brother, Mr. "ahCepT - <3 kestylo"'s leverage has no weight to it due to the following:
a) he does not organize any LANs
b) nobody in his country organizes any LANs
c) he does not have, has never had and will never have any shot at any prize money
d) he takes the work of one special man called Martin Veermäe and generalizes it to the whole nation, meaning he's a prejudice retard with no real arguments, which is to be expected, as he's Lithuanian.
so if you are not a top team you just want to play

Just what allumon said.
By the way, you always have enought teams to attend those bigger lan events, so you don't invite countries from Baltic States?
Will you officially accuse them somehow? It's a lot of money.
we all know.
he had online steelseries shop.
but he closed it .d
some people don't get their money.
But you know what they say about redheads :D They wore done against their mothers will and I am directing to raping.
and winfakt won 5-2 when they lose the first 2 maps.
Estonians, if you see that face in the street, you know what to do
What do you mean
http://www.ttu.ee/digifest-eng/contact/
http://www.digifest.eu
It's martin@digifest.eu
"For anyone that wants a face-to-face talk with him, you can find him working in the Finnish Vapiano at Helsinki 1, Mikonkatu 15."
I think WinFakt, that being lurppis, should sue the guy and probably would get the money in a year or two.
THATS CRAZY :D
imma punch martin in da face, if i would see him .
moron himself .
Please everyone e-mail this address to notify Vapiano of their scamming employee. These kind of people damage the reputation of Estonia and Vapiano's.
You might say if Martin gets fired how will he ever pay back the debts? Trust me, he is never planning to pay back a dime
Yeah, we actually have 4 computers in Estonia which means that we have to share it. (1 CPU for 250 000 people) so at the moment I am having my 15 minutes of Internet per month so I will waste it on saying that you, sir, are a complete donnish fucktard.
Oh, and by the way, you used to be a part of "this third world mess".
And I hope you won't return after centuries after your country will be fucked up by huge debts :)
