trace joins SK Gaming, Delpan out
SK Gaming has just announced that Martin "trace" Heldt has joined their ranks, while Marcus "Delpan" Larsson was removed from the team.
Danish superstar Martin "trace" Heldt, who was placed 4th on our Top 20 of 2011 players list, has been without a team for several months since the disbandment of mTw.
Recently it was speculated that he might join fnatic, but yesterday he refuted those rumors and added that he will be attending IEM6 World Championship with a different team.
Today it is revealed that he will join SK Gaming, while Marcus "Delpan" Larsson will be removed. The news comes somewhat as a surprise as the Swedish giants have been quite successful since the addition of Larsson in June of 2011.
Heldt issued the following statement to SK-Gaming.com:
"I am thrilled to get this opportunity. I have had a little break from CS, and I am looking forward to making my return to a high competitive level. During my break I have had a couple of offers, but I felt that SK was the right choice for me. To be in a professional organisation like SK and be able to play with such great players motivates me a lot, and I can't wait to get started."

The first opportunity to see the new SK lineup in action will be at IEM6 World Championship from March 6-10.

SK clearly made a bad move here, trace attended some event lately with Anexis which have a great team-play and he was totally lost, wasn't rotating quickly, etc... However fnatic did a expected and long waited move, add a mad-fragger they tried with manne puting too much on him that's why he failed into. But MODDII is clearly motivated an long time professional player he uses to play against top teams with sucess, he can't fail here. That's why I expect fnatic to switch top2 and SK top3 this year.

I don't know. TRACE is the most complete cs player of modern times in my opinion. If the language is not a major barrier, I think SK will improve with this addition. Fnatic, on the other hand, have made a very good choice too.

The DSN/Carn/f0rest/GTR linesups went without awp a lot. (Yes, DSN awped sometimes, but fnatic didn't always try to buy him an awp and choose whether to buy or not based on whether they could afford one, like many teams do when they have a primary awper.)

thats what i'm saying delpan is one of the best awpers in the world actually he is a top5 with aslak,friis,markeloff and pasha based on results and awp frags last year.but he wasnt stable. e.g his perfomance could be in one map 1.50 and in the other 0.80 and he could only awp when he used rifles everybody laugh even robbie was better...now trace will put stability at SK's game overall as he is with get_right neo and markeloff one of the best players in the world..he is way more experienced than delpan he is always calm and he can use every weapon at world class level! Also i think robbie(robban) will start awp again as he was an awper back in the begrip and nip days..So overall SK will lack in the awping part comparing to fnatic navi winfakt and esc but they will play better than last year ;D

If you watch Delpan of 2009 he was no doubt the best awper at that time, nobody could stop his sick talent. But like they always said: ego killed the talent.

I'm not that sure Delpan is THAT unstable as people think he is (or most likely as SK think he is).
Delpan is such an important player and every team he joins to becomes way better and gets immidiate results and he proved it with SK, fnatic and even the old MYM with pita MODDII etc. when they won the IEM in Dubai if I'm not mistaken.
I don't know if this move is a wise one by SK, but we will quickly find out the answer I believe.

Gux didnt walk out on a contract, there is a big difference. also we dont really know who said what, could have been mainly forest or gtr for all we know. i think that whole not wanting to play with carn / dsn was blown out more than the community realises i think it was a small factor and the big factors behind the move was they wanted something different after playing together for so long and losing motivation, this is true for gtr as he said it numerous times that he was losing interest, forest also mentioned it once or twice as well in the early days when he joined with SK

AWP is very useful on T side of tuscan I think. The only map that doesn't fit AWP is Nuke and that's because of the difficulty of rotating with it.

Delpans frags are almost always important frags, trace is a very good player tho don't think it's goin to be a huge difference, you're more than welcome to prove me wrong. However I think Trace got some very important skill, a winning mentality which might help SK in the later stages of tournaments when the heat is turned on, and the games are even. GO SK!

Don't know what to say, but in my Opinion WCG, and SEC should change there rules now and should allow players from Different nationality to play under one team, as most top Teams Like SK-Gaming , Fnatic and Mousesports are not a National team any more and without these teams the tournaments will Suck.

Delpan said he has no longer motivation, and he is going to work now, so he quitted. And if I recall well, walle quitted too. And Dennis, ok, he plays well, but imo not even close to be part of the top teams.

delpan have had problem with with motivation before..just like he had in fnatic after a while....same thing here...i guess he gets bored of CS after winning a few tournaments :). If he isnt motivated i dont its wrong to kick him.
