CPH Games with 20,000€ prize purse
Time: 2012-02-19 15:55

The prize purse for Copenhagen Games 2012 has been announced, as the event in Danish capital will hand out a total of 20,000€ this year.

Even the possibility of Copenhagen Games favoring CS:Source over CS 1.6 had been rumoured prior to the announcement but in the end it looks like the event organizers decided to award the same amount of money for each title.

However, the prize distribution is yet to be announced for any of the games that will be featured at the event, but should be announced in the coming days according to the people behind the event.

Frag eXecutors on the highest podium last year in Copenhagen

With some strong names already signed up for the event, it looks to be yet another successful tournament. None of the teams are confirmed yet however, but as there is plenty of time left before registration closes, expect many more teams to sign up.

Those interested in participating can sign up on the Copenhagen Games website. Worth noting is that the signup fee will increase on March 1 so if you know you will be in attendance, make sure to sign up while it's still cheaper.

Copenhagen Games will take place on April 4-8 in Øksnehallen in the capital of Denmark. The event is a bring-your-own-computer event with no tournament computer provided, but rental should be announced later on.

2012-02-19 16:21:11
they will bro dont cry
2012-02-19 17:03:55
#Who told you about the distribution?
2012-02-19 18:35:48
shit tournament. you have to pay 500e per team to attend, + accomodation, food, and flight. even if you finish top3 it wont pay off. indian gaming festival > copenhagen
2012-02-19 16:07:26
The question is will they give that money?
2012-02-19 16:14:33
or its long way to india, it must cost a lot of money.
2012-02-19 16:19:29
But then, it will also be a nice trip as most of them wouldn't have visited india. So, it's not a completely absurd option, atleast for the top teams. Like when they flew to New York for IEM GC, a few months back.
2012-02-19 16:58:09
true. I want SK travel to SK but sad they will compete in DK.
2012-02-19 17:10:12
they are quite stupid , they could easily get money from india and they prefer to go to denmark , sad.
2012-02-19 19:04:59
sk can drive to Øksnehallen for like 100 euros lawl, why pay to go to india

you are "quite stupid"
2012-02-19 20:01:09
True :D

Denmark and sweden are connected via a bridge, its like 20 minutes from copenhagen to malmø etc. So its not that bad for sk gaming and trace lives in copenhagen anyways soo.
2012-02-19 20:26:28
yea it takes 15 minutes to travel between Malmö and Copenhagen actually, with train.
2012-02-20 08:15:04

2012-02-19 21:14:02
the teams that flew to New York went there for 2 or perhaps 3 reasons. 1st to compete, 2nd to qualify for the IEM world finals, 3rd visiting one of the biggest cities in the world.
2012-02-20 08:17:16
i followed indian events for a while (cs and dota), they werent that big tho for huge coverages, and they always paid off...this time they really seem legit with sponsors
2012-02-19 19:37:46

2012-02-19 16:58:17
SC2 is a 1on1 game bro. 6.500€ x5 = 32.500€ > CS 1.6.
Also iem wc will feature sc2 with 75.000$
last year cs had 40.000$.

Also, 1.6 police should watch both games. o h sorry, we have 2 tournaments at the same time! :D

really? :(
2012-02-19 19:19:19
Yea its true.

just got home from a danish lan called HKLAN.

There were 4 cs 1.6 teams and something like 50 css teams.
2012-02-19 20:28:02
so why same price?
2012-02-19 19:37:23
I dont get it either, its true that CSS is bigger in Denmark, we have way more css lans now.

2012-02-19 20:29:15
i wanted to learn how your lans working? with sponsors? what about prizes?
2012-02-19 21:06:08
sorry it was a stupid question but my point you can't see it's a esport without sponsors:D
2012-02-19 21:18:28
Because many teams sign up for cs:s tournament aswell
2012-02-19 20:51:02
See you there ! <3
2012-02-19 18:43:17

2012-02-19 19:00:12

2012-02-19 21:42:35

2012-02-20 12:49:52
I will
2012-02-20 16:08:26
they should ditch cs:source and have a 40.000 Euro 1.6 tourenemnt. This would only attract more elite teams. From Asia, middle easten, america, south america etc..

just be happy they didnt decrease the 1.6 prizepool and give it to css instead, like they were going to do
2012-02-19 21:25:11
Indian gaming carnival blablabla or what it is called, is a first timer, so price money will come in 2015 ??

At Copenhagen Games they will tranfer the money onsite like last year.
That is what the scene needs. Pricemoney paid onsite.
2012-02-19 21:44:13
