Patrik "cArn" Sättermon's team was unable to put up much of a fight in what was reportedly the last match of his career, as Natus Vincere made light work of their quarter-final clash against fnatic, winning 16-7 on de_tuscan and 16-4 on de_train.
The second, and last, match of the day here at IEM6 World Championship saw Natus Vincere and fnatic cross paths in the quarter-final. The two teams had numerous intense duels in the past years, but what made this one special was that Patrik "cArn" Sättermon announced that he will retire from the game after this tournament, making this his last meeting with Natus Vincere, and potentially his last official match.
The first map would be de_tuscan where fnatic started on the CT-side and opened up with a good pistol-round. When the big guns came into play on both sides, the rounds started going back and forth and score was even on two occasions, 4-4 and 7-7. The last round of the half seemed to be going to fnatic's favor, but Arseny "ceh9" Trynozhenko managed to clutch a 1vs3 situation and bring his team the advantage.
The result promised an exciting second half, but it turned that fnatic was unable to get anything going as Terrorist, while Na`Vi won round after round. In the end they won eight rounds in a row which ended the map at a 16-7 result.
During that second half fnatic seemed quite distraught and nothing seemed to be going in their favor, and the same happened with the knife round on the second map, de_train. That meant Natus Vincere would start as Counter-Terrorists and the situation didn't seem very good for the Swedes.
That expectation proved correct as the Ukrainians racked up rounds and went into a 6-0 lead before fnatic first woke up and won a round. Not much use came from that one round, as Natus Vincere reset their money system right away, and the same thing happened a few rounds later. The half ended with a 12-3 lead for the Ukrainians, and fnatic desperately needed the following pistol-round.
They weren't able to win that either and their days were as good as counted. The Swedes were forced to buy in the third round and somehow they managed to win it, giving themselves one last glimmer of hope. But then Natus Vincere had a semi-buy in the next round and fnatic was unable to defend once again, effectively putting the end to the match one round later at a 16-4 scoreline.
Match statistics:
fnatic's long time in-game leader Sättermon certainly must have expected and hoped for a few more matches in his illustrious career, but Natus Vincere made sure to send him into retirement earlier than Saturday.
Natus Vincere have now scheduled a meeting with Lions in the semi-final tomorrow at 09:10, and are still on their way to defending their IEM title for the second time.

attention whores should get banned :P
@on topic: pretty easy actually. fnatic wasn't confident enough, hence they played too defensively
(Answer to your smiles: ;p)

but i kinda agree, let's see if they improve without carn
fnatic need step up after fnatic join neew player
who really dissapointed me its moddii
gg
fnatic never won wcg, sorry to disappoint you mate =)
So they arent the best team just because they never won WCG? Come on only poles say like that...
Anyway, golden 5(or 6) are so much bigger than fnatic, and navi is running to it too

I think fnatic will have a rough patch now since they need to bring another new player and need even more time to adapt. :( But I will always keep cheering them on.
GL in future carny :)

Ukranian fanboys, you can't deny the truth which is that you have the worst player ever in the history of CS, keep coming at me fanboys, you're only making me famous!
btw, it must be pretty cool agreeing with yourself, lol.. nice 2 accounts.
P.S. being infamously known as a dumbass troll is prolly not a good thing but it wouldn't bother me that much if that's your goal.

If you think that I made 2 accounts then you're more retarded than your making me to look like..
Also, check out who is the MVP in Na`Vi-Lions match (hint: you might get really mad)
so far ceh9 pawns Sweden, gl hating hahaha
it makes sense that you would create 2 accounts b/c it would be quite hard to find somebody as retarded as you are.
PZZZZZ

What's your point?
ceh9 is so damn bad that it's unbelievable. ceh9 was the MVP in the match vs Lions? HAHA, YOU'RE KIDDING ME?! He made so many mistakes I can't even count how many where he got killed in important rounds so Lions could take over the bombsites. Starix was the MVP of the match and he's the best IGL when it comes to madfragging, absolutely insane!!
"it makes sense that you would create 2 accounts b/c it would be quite hard to find somebody as retarded as you are."
Guess what, I just find who's more retarded than me, YOU.
hope ceh9 shines against SK as well so you can blow up from rage.
PZZZZ
Guess what, he won't shine. He never will.
"never argue with an idiot. he will drag you down to his level and win by experience"
GL NEXT !
GL carn, forever in our hearts <3
UKRAINE STRONG!
STARIX > ALL!
SWEDEN WRONG!
