Lions and the Counter-Strike team led by Björn "threat" Pers have decided to part ways under a month after their third place finish at IEM6 World Championship.

According to a press release on Lions eSportKlubb's website, the CS division's contracts were expiring at the end of this month and they came to a mutual agreement to not renew team.


threat will have to shift some focus from CS over to looking for an organization 

After previously representing H2k up until late 2010 when the team decided to replace Markus "pronax" Wallsten with Pers, the team joined up with the Lions organization to replace the previously departed Norwegian team.

IMO this was the most underrated team.


They got the 2nd place at DH Winter 11 by kicking big teams like AGAiN and Navi out of the tournament (and winning against mousesports in group stage)

They got the 3rd place at IEM Global Final. Beating SK, Winfakt, M5, eSahara,..; first place at group stage.

The owner of Lions has focused more on his studies and hasn't been active in managing the organization lately. They also dropped their Norwegian CS:S team, so I doubt this has got something to do with 1.6 dying.

how could lions expect this team to get top1? top3 at IEM WC was probably the biggest thing ever for those guys,unfortunately they just cant fight ESC/Navi/SK and mb the new fnatic tea,they will always be the 3rd swede team,they could maybe get one or 2 1st places but that would be it,the players who are in the top4 play cs for so much time and have so much experience that is nearly impossible for them to loose

u can be sure that they planed to get some top1 during this last 20 months, they really tought they could do it and made theyr sponsors to believe on that to.

i believed on that too, they are amazing players, however, they could not get ANY top1 in 20 months, and project now is dead.

Only to kinds of organizations will be able to stand up a 1.6 line up this days:

1) teams that are REALLY able to get a top1 any time.

2) top1 teams from countrys that have a strong 1.6 comunity (like Brazil)

Thats just my point of view...
