The captain of WinFakt, Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen has withdrawn from Copenhagen Games due to personal reasons. Miikka "dRiim" Toroi will act as his stand-in at the event.
WinFakt is one of the 24 invited teams at Copenhagen Games which is set to take place on April 4-8 in the Danish capital. The team won't be traveling with its usual lineup however, as their in-game leader Kovanen won't be able to attend.
Although no official statement was released by Kovanen himself, he stated personal reasons made it impossible for him to travel to Copenhagen on the dates of the event next week.

lurppis will be watching Copenhagen Games from the sidelines
His replacement will be Toroi who is best known from his stint in Crack Clan and Power Gaming in 2009 which saw him and Matti "SPIKEONE" Järvinen qualify for World Cyber Games but get replaced by Max "ruuit" Aspe and Samu "plastE" Aalto before the event.
Due to WinFakt's in-game leader being unable to attend, the team will be relying on Kimmo "BASiC" Fagerholm to call the plays. Although normally a fragger, Fagerholm also led his former team Online Kingdom at Xperia Play last year when they took down Lions and mTw.
WinFakt at Copenhagen Games:
Aleksi "allu" Jalli
Timi "aslak" Verkkoperä
Kimmo "BASiC" Fagerholm
Miikka "dRiim" Toroi (stand-in)
Hannu "H^N" Pohjalainen
This will only be a temporary change however, as Kovanen is expected to return to the lineup for their next event, whether it's Nordic Masters at the end of April or xfunction Fraglider Cup in May.
Doesnt make any sense.
Did you even read the article ?
but dRiim is good too.

He's better than all of us.
Come on, this one was just too obvious! ;P
Let us wait for the original "replied" to get the clue or not ;)

on top of that OK is statistically rank2 team of hltv.org stats: http://www.hltv.org/?pageid=179&teamid=3451&am..
yes you are right about the dRiim + teamwork thing, but i still think basic has some great igl skills.
Still it adds some interesting factor as to what BASiC is able to pull out of his hat.
exactly, maybe he will be even better than lurppis, who knows?! :)
Therefore if he performs well, and his team overall, one might not be sure if it was due to that "surprise" factor or actually BASiC had some good carrots for the bunnies if you know what I mean ;)

I really miss that tournament, loved to watch OK taking down those 2 teams and playing so impressive. thought that was the new rise of finnish cs.
In that case, I've to join the club. HF watching deadliest catch lurp, must be terrific while your team is beating teams u'd never do!
regardless of me not being able to attend, i would rather watch deadliest catch than attend a byoc event in denmark

It's so obvious that people trolls you:
Instead of saying bad blabla like regular users do. They tend to distract users from the discussion.
"a post to a computer discussion made only to disrupt it."
Now, tell it to the "soon to be seven year old niece", that she's a clever girl ^_^
And I've to quote:
"I would rather watch deadliest catch than attend a byoc event in denmark"
Continue the lan-dodging, plenty more frags to see from players who're far more skilled than you'll ever be ingame!
And hold on: why're you criticizing my English? English isn't my native language?! :D
And also, take a look @ Fragbite how people troll you HAHAHA
http://www.fragbite.se/?newsID=19551
Let me quote one of the users who troll:
User - Daniel Tosh: "Rumours claims that he's still running around and "grimsing" in A-house at de_mirage. He might be finished with his attack in the beginning of May"
Some also claims that you don't have the guts to meet duttdutt at LAN, after what you've written in chat ingame.

ah much better than me in-game, that really hurt a hit under the belt. it's tough when cs experts such as wmbz criticize you on a forum filled with utter morons.
i've always been an entry fragger as you can see from various events stats from last fall so whatever some idiot on fragbite wrote once again hardly shakes my day up :)
yeah man, after over 7 years of attending major events i'm afraid of some swedish scrubs who have never beaten anyone better than podbots on lan, makes perfect sense... brb updating news post :D i wouldn't know since i don't smoke anything but i heard it's easy to get weed in denmark so at least manne will feel comfortable losing there, as opposed to possibly having to be sober
"i've to quote" = i have to quote, "why're" = why are, enjoy the free english lessons. it's not my native language either, but at least i don't come off like an idiot by writing in a language i can't hold a conversation in, which you did.
this must have really hit home with you because you took it so personally, so while you try to reconstruct your self esteem, i didn't mean you (at least so far you haven't come off as one, but please continue calling me an idiot, it helps on the way)
I'am accordingly to you, an "idiot", an "utter moron" and a CS-expert.
Do you realise that your the second most hated "professional" CS-player on the planet?
So many people hate how you act, but I don't care really. I never take inet personally (calling them idiots morons blabla).
Taking things personal when a guy who probably started his personal life now calls me a moron or an idiot would never make me personal. Your 24 something and you still think that you can be a "professional gamer" on a 12 year old game. Let me laugh
You can't make me take anything of what you say personal because losers lose and your used to it! (Like in every event you participate where there's skilled teams)
And if you wonder, I'm done with my exams before your current age.... (Let me laugh)

i couldn't care less what people i have never met nor know think of me, i post on forums for fun and my own amusement when i have nothing else to do. i only care about how those close to me see me, and clearly i don't act the same around them. some people get my humor and others don't, that's life and i'm okay with that, i don't feel like i'm missing out on anything.
i started my personal life now? me playing cs has let me enjoy my personal life a lot more as i have lived abroad for two years, traveled to +20 countries and made hundreds of friends around the world. my life is great and i enjoy living it.
once again, no matter what you think of me, i have won multiple international events, beaten every team out there, led multiple teams to become top teams and won over $340,000 in prize money with my teams. hardly a losers career.
as far as school goes, if that was a high priority in my life i clearly would have prioritized it over cs, but i will finish school in time and still have my 35-40 years for a normal job, i'm extremely content with my life choices so far. whether or not i have a degree by 24 hardly changes anything, as long as i enjoy my life (which i do).
Just think before you write so you wont get owned so badly and make yourself look like dumb.
However that didn't clearly "register" too
And Onskuu, I'm the one to argue, then let me just tell you this.
That guy spent 12 years of his life playing everyday 40 times a week on a game that never could make him any near rich.
And travelling to countries, you don't think you can do that with a mcdonalds wage or anything dont u ?????
because your such obvious moron that i dont get it, you think ur above people when u played a stupid game
i don't do things in life in an attempt to get rich, if gettin rich was my goal i would have never started playing cs in the first place, i do things that i enjoy because my primary goal is to enjoy the life i lead.
besides, i haven't played any CS since IEM, I took six months off after EG completely. generally i've always been a guy who plays 1-2 weeks before tournaments and then doesn't at all, so that's hardly correct; in in the past 4 years i have about 3000 hours of CS played (which is a good amount, but besides events/practice right before them hardly limits anything else in my life).
obviously anyone with a real job couldn't travel anywhere near as much or spend as much time abroad as i have without getting fired as it's simply impossible.
yes, i do think my opinion as a top player is more valid in this kind of discussions than yours, it's like a guy from nba.com forums arguing with actual NBA players - it's obvious one of the two has an opinion that has more merit by default.
anyhow that has nothing to do with it, i dont want to be symbolized with a game as it has no value irl. (even if i made a million dollar, i'd have guilt feelings after the carrier)
Just so u know, all the topgamers who quit have regrets (like walle, and many others)
go to a girl say that your a professional gamer and see for yourself what will happen :D
also if u take a look at all professional gamers from sweden who ended their carriers, only 10 made it in real life, nebb is one of the managers or board members of Bahnof today
Post edited 2012-03-29 19:27:24
i don't want to be "symbolized" with a game that has no value in real life (wow you must be really insecure to always talk about real life), but i actually have confidence so i won't shy away if someone knows i play a video game, if i'm still awesome in every other aspect it hardly makes me the kind of nerd you're afraid of being considered.
i'm fairly sure you haven't talked to ALL the top gamers who have quit, and who is to say the people who do regret playing CS would have ever made it in life regardless? maybe people who were unable to do anything with their lives after were just born losers who got lucky with CS for a while.
clearly your other qualities aren't great so while you might need to brag about going to school or studying something interesting to get a girls attention, i don't have to do that because i'm funny and people enjoy being around me in general. i don't feel insecure about having played cs for a living, in fact most people around my age think it's cool, as my life has nothing at all to do with cs when i'm not doing something cs related.
once again, read the 3rd paragraph as a response to your last one. i believe smart people will make it no matter what.
irl > cs
and most gamers who quit has regretted both publicly and in private
i dont brag anything, im telling u that ur girlfriend would find it a bit difficult for u to travel around the world for something that is bogus.
and i dont think ur that funny and i dont think ppl enjoy being around u in general because u obviously consider gaming results more important than anything else
and i think ur insecure because u always talk about insecurity. and i talk about the reality here, real life is the reality. cs is a game. wake up
dude, someone whos smart knows that playing a game that gives u nothing isnt so clever to do.
i suggest u get a new "thing" to do in life because gaming wont get u anywhere imo. and dont tell me that it got u because u could have done all that u have done now in real life if u really wanted to do.
its all about what you want, because if u want something in life theres no one who can hinder u.
u said u study so continue doing that instead of wasting ur time coming nowhere, seeing all these nations for no apparent reason because u dont have any actual reason to go there. people send u as a living billboard, u wear their logotype and u get a SMALL amount and a ticket paid.
just saying that if lurppis wouldnt meet cs, he would probably do something else =)
and one funny note, those 300 grand u talked about, is it individually( that u made that amount of money, or is it total prize tourmoney achieved with teams )
because its not even decent paid for 5 years, just imagine what u could have earned if you spent studying til u were 18 til now. u would have finished ur masters exam and civilengineer degree and earn CASH CASH CASH CASH CASH CASH CASH now i have to repeat it again CASH CASH CASH CASH CASH
Post edited 2012-03-29 21:28:42
the funny thing is, my close friends who used to play cs and still follow my tournaments actually seem more interested in it than i do when we hang out; i turn cs off outside of a server/cs website and it doesn't really exist for me, simple as that.
i don't see why a girl would have a problem with me doing something i enjoy doing, and if she did, she would probably be a bitch anyway. people who care about each other support them in whatever makes them happy.
yes, cs clearly got me somewhere as i traveled to over 20 countries, lived in the usa for 2 years, met hundreds of friends and have made a living for the past seven years. that's something, no?
like i said before, i don't feel a need to get somewhere by a certain age, as long as i enjoy living my life, i am happy. i will have my +35 years with a normal job, i'm content with that.
and in what ways do u make fun of me? im not even reading half of the shit u write, no one gives a shit about cs or u or even what i write here
i just feel sad for a person whos 24 and behaves like a 10 year old on the internet. (flaming people that have nothing to do with them)
"i don't see why a girl would have a problem with me doing something i enjoy doing"
thats the biggest piece of bullshit i have ever read in my entire life. girls dont work that way, i dont know what type of girls u get, probably the tarded ones
and lurppis, no one follows u, srsly now, who the F gives a shit about cs gamers really in general? i dont see anyone owning a maserati yet, must be very status to be a "PROFESSIONAL CS PLAYER". now i want to close this discussion because ur obviously not on the same wave length.
still, losefakt be losin'
Post edited 2012-03-29 21:38:26
i could have lived in the us, but i could never have had two years of doing nothing but playing cs, enjoying life and doing just about anything i wanted if i had a real job.
yes, but at least this time they're losing without me!! LOLLZZZZZZ!!!! GOOD ONE :D:D:D
ps. who cares about a "status", i know i don't, but material possessions seem mad important to you, so why don't you go save for a new car while i actually enjoy my life :D
well lurp, see here, people have ordinary life where cs is just something they do to kill dead time with. the game is dead, don't even try to make an excuse for wasting 5 years of life for nothing (wow u lived in the US and did nothing only but CS, woWOOWOowOW, must be really fun to do)
"who cares about a "status", i know i don't, but material possessions seem mad important to you, so why don't you go save for a new car while i actually enjoy my life :D"
Seriously now, it's just a game. Can you stop acting like if it were the worlds only?!
I know for sure that any girl in my life would never allow me to spend in something that is bogus? It has no value, no nothing. It's just a space of time and waste of time aswell. CS is time consuming, it doesnt gain you anything?!
Ur nothing more than a human billboard where kids who're 20-ish pays out a little sum from their dads pocket.
i take it you only eat protein shakes, work out 7 days a week, read books, work and go to school then, clearly no time for browsing the internet? oh wait.
just like every nhl/nba/nfl/etc player is just a human billboard? :D
are you telling me that i could compair messi to get_right for example?
HAHAHAHAHA, and wait: "if you never do anything that is useless, what are you doing on this website?
Like, try to compair La Lakers with Team WinFakt. Team Winfakt is funded by a guys father. Barcelona for example has HUGE companies.
i work out jogging occasionally if thats (the 7 days a week)
and nhl/nba/nfl players actually do something else, they do charity, they do something for the sport, they open institutions.
compairing urself to for example messi. messi opened football academy, he helped people with autism, he donated thousands of euros to UNICEF.
he's a brand by UNICEF as Barca PAYS UNICEF to even have their logotype on their shirts.
i have respect for athletes because they actually devote their time in something that is valueable to all people (not just gamers).
ciAO luRPPiS, i dont want to discuss more with u, hope winfakt actually wins a tournament that has value some day, because u havent done anything to raise an eyebrow yet....
(by that, beating SK)
it sounds like he's the next SpawN or something. it's just a friggin game, they were lucky to even make cash in it.
i just dont understand how a person can defend time consumption on something as a 12-year old ridiculous game that is today very dead..
people grow up, cs-scene have grown up, people have other things in their mind, not sitting in their apartment praccing to become something....
and the poles and ukraines, they live in poland, they can live on playing cs, but still no maserati. actually the poles are the only ones who can call themselves professionals because they actually make a decent living on the game if we compair their status in poland to lurppis in finland. =)
Post edited 2012-03-29 21:57:35
believe me when i say that quitting this game was the best thing ever happened.
jigetus must agree with me
What lurppis was probably trying to say was that you should do stuff in life that you enjoy and makes you happy, and not give a fuck what other people think.
You've taken this conversation way out of context.
I don't need to listen to what computeraddicts have to tell me.
And especially people who haven't achieved a shit in real life.
I know that quitting CS and focusing on studies and what makes life life is much more valueable to me.
What lurppis is saying is that he compares CS to an actual sport and urging people to play games instead of motivate themselves in real life.
And as far as it matters you can't play CS professionally and have a personal life at the same time. =)
What do you know what he has and what he hasn't achieved, do you know him in real life?
CS is just a game, you can focus on your studies and such as much as you like, and still be able to play a game in your free time. If quitting the game made you happy and more focused towards your studies then good for you. That doesn't mean that it would apply to every single person out there though.
"I know that quitting CS and focusing on studies and what makes life life is much more valueable to me."
lurppis doesn't encourage anyone to play a game in order to achieve something in life. It's what _he_ does and that has given him experiences and connections all around the world, how is that a bad thing?
He will still complete his studies later, as he already mentioned, so what's the real problem here?
The vast majority of this site plays the game because it's fun to play, not because their goal in life is to become a professional.
Post edited 2012-04-03 18:41:06
Because I've played with several players who made it into the level where it once was a decent paid.
I judge lurppis just as I judged the ones who got paid for playing afterwards. The end =)
Btw, it's I am or I'm, choose one.
As a wise man once said, haters gonna hate.
We started gaming when we were kids, CS officially is in its 12th year.
We've to move on with our lifes and start to create a future that is sustainable.
Gaming however is not sustainable. And I encourage people to quit it as soon as possible because of the simple fact that you don't gain anything in being a professional gamer.
The only part I like about gamers who play it professionally are the fact that they get to travel very often but in the long end, can't be that fun :)
Look at dsn for example, he works for Coca-cola now, doing something he loves more than gaming.
That is by that promoting games and gaming in magazines :)
Are you serious? Just because I urge people to quit their commitment to a computer game which has no value in real life, that's to you "on drugs or lost in life":
I'd say that I succeeded more than 90% of the HLTV.org users, I'am today a proud web developer with connections to the swedish industry :)
grow the fuck up
Wanting to improve your argumentation skills, you might want to leave the repeating and actually show up with some facts to support your argument(s).
Now as I already said, please, scram. In case you don't know what that means, let me tell you, get out.
1) I'am already reading my book in order for me to get my degree
2) I've already quit gaming and I once now and then check out the forum
3) I never got lawyered, infact he's the one who looks stupid when he compair real athletes to gamers.
4) Since someone nicknamed "00000" has no intention other than trolling on this forum, you should get a life.
5) You might actually pay some attention when I write that many people agrees on what I'm saying. =)
Now, you've been served. :)
the team would be better he s very bad player
where is contE?
where is tihOp?
where is SPIKEONE?
cs is not the same now, I miss old Roccat.
