Copenhagen Games organizers have revealed that India Gaming Carnival tried to buy out Copenhagen Games.
Following our news about Moscow Five's shocking trip to India Gaming Carnival, Copenhagen Games organizers, whose event coincided with IGC, have shared some interesting info with us.
The Danish-based organizers forwarded us a message sent to them on March 16, three weeks before their event took place. The message was sent via their website's support system, which is meant to answers participants' questions and problems.
The message was signed by Saurabh Khurana, VP of Marketing and Sales at WTF Eventz – the organization behind the scandalous India Gaming Carnival event.
Moreover, the Copenhagen Games organizers contacted Khurana by e-mail in order to verify the authenticity of the message. Khurana confirmed, but his $100,000 offer was rejected shortly after.

HLTV.org has been in contact with Zahid Butt, the main man behind Copenhagen Games, via telephone, and he said that making an offer in the way the IGC organizers did, through their support system, cannot be taken seriously.
Butt continued by saying the offer was too low anyway, explaining that their offer did not even cover the rent of their own venue, and Copenhagen Games is not for sale.
Good try but all in vein.....
where are those ppl now? :D
i have nothing against the country but it was pretty obvious that this will happen.....
is funny 'cuz you should put nothing instead of nada and nada means nothing on my language :O (spanish) :)))

"offer was too low" + "not for sale"
hmmm
my point is, i wouldn't call it 'owned' when he even contradicted himself :D
I would say yes to it and give them nothing like they did and run away :D

What could happen if some mafia-boy steal Pasha's memory stick or whatever. I think whole India could be destroyed by his biceps...

Now when Indian Flag is being displayed in the main posts over n over again, most of us are being ashamed.:P
Who knows, these people might really want to do a legit event, but just didnt understand how to handle it.
Anyways - you guys shouldnt take any notice of this. There are trolls and fools everywhere.

my favourites!
Rather spend time on making our own event better.
I don't think that in any case warning with or with disclosing the information, that it would've helped anyone - especially not CPH Games. I actually think people would meet the warning with huge skepticism. Even now when the event has been held (IGC) it is hard to believe what happened. Considering this, it would be even harder to imagine before the event - even if members of CPH Games' staff had given out a warning.
Besides other teams infact did warn the russian against this - us saying something wouldnt help, and only look like a cheap trick for the sake of competetion.

Also, the IGC board look like a bunch of kids who just passed college. Not to say that a bunch of 20somes years can't do tournaments on their own, but WTF? (pun intended).
First, they fucked up M5 and then they want to take the money of fnatic ,na'vi etc.
Post edited 2012-04-10 23:01:25
Hope WEM and WCG get back this year and keep the price money high enough,so maybe M5 can get some money back at least from other events.
so lucky tyloo didnt go,i heard that a lot of fans sending msgs to IGC for trying to get tyloo the last second ticket for the IGC event, but surely they are lucky that they got late email from IGC.
Fu***ing india whant make money ? Go work ...
Post edited 2012-04-10 23:16:00
imagine if the offer was 1millon$, and it was taken (not saying it would, ever)... the kinda shit they could have pulled o_o
hahahaha
you can say whatever you want, wont change our mind of we feel about your country and your goverment.
I like indian ppl here in the states but,not the country. So undeveloped and still think your powerful, hope you guys put more money on education and medication.
you can say it's a fake email, but you are just fooling yourself.dont reply me,i dont care what your thoughts nor ur words.
i just hope no 1 got fooled by IGC.2 many sad things already happened to CS,feel sry to M5.Hope they are safe and they get their money back.
CS never die~!
Could you kindly explain us more about your assumptions? I think that all this situation is as tragic as sad for both esports (that will lose credibility) and for India (even though the blame belongs to the organizers the majority of people - ignorants - will keep saying it's the country fault.
Now, moving to your false assertives I just wanted to say that you are very wrong. Indians schools are world known in the fields of math, fisics and applied science. How come you dare mixing a police case with the country, as if it was India's fault.
We have bad people all over the world and just an example try searching about the dannish who killed 77 people in the outskirts of Denmark or even your almighty country who made Nepal's true leader Dalai Lama live in exile while not giving basic human rights to its residents.
Its disguting how hypocrite and ignorant average people is nowadays.
hahahaha

On a side note. If they sent the email 3 weeks in advance and CPH wanted to show it to all the users of the offer, y show it now and not before the fiasco? Sorry find tht hard to believe but wouldnt doubt those retarded WTF fks to actually do it.
This is unprofessional of releasing the email and adding to the fire. Unprofessional and it does not help the gaming community, m5 or doesnt show it was a scam from day 1.
Before saying I am being defensive, atleast all the mature users of Hltv please tell me how this has helped the community and if it is professional for a business to indulge in such activities. And y to add to the fire and that too so late.
so you think cover everything up means professional these days? eh,how about not telling the rest of the world what's going wiht IGC make you feel?
Lying to us or covering the fact means good to you?
what's kind of method is this?
i think every 1 should know what kind of event IGC is and learn sth from it,say:NEVER TRUST them again1!
at least on our chinese cs sites we got the same news ,every1 who played cs knows whats going on in your country. They heard the cs name for your country, you should blame these organizors instead of us or hltv for this.
If u read my post I never denied it was a scam and it sux for m5 and all indian gamers who wanted it to be a hit and they got fkd too, then u r really blind and proves my point of u being thickheaded.
I was talking abt CPH releasing the info abt the buy out and how it contributed and their professional manner. I was not talking abt m5.
Good day.
So don't ask people to forget everything and bury the hatchet. It's not about adding fuel to fire. Stop taking everything so personally. It's not like everyone out there is twisting their moustache trying to hatch a plan to damage the credibility of India. (By the way I'm not sure if there is any such credibility). And It's not HLTV's or CPH's fault that indian users in this community can't take anything in face value and tend to get a major butt-hurt from even a slightest bit of criticism.

I do understand the importance of getting info out to the communities, but working with esports on a professional level, you just dont go telling about business matters.
I do not doubt abt WTF eventz sending an offer like this. My only concern was that I did not think it was right for this published and that too so late. This did not help m5 , nor the gaming community and did not prove tht IGC was going to be a scam which we all suspected it of being without any reputed sponsors.
Butt continued by saying the offer was too low anyway, explaining that their offer did not even cover the rent of their own venue, and Copenhagen Games is not for sale.
Butt instead of but :P deam man, what are you thinking on when you write news? On girls butts?

M5 though could have avoided the embarrassment and agony by doing a good study beforehand, like fnatic , sk
pakis! with all the respect i have for your country why is it that i see you ppl type so much when its about india! btw its not about india its about a tournament hosted by some thugs unfortunately who are indians..
now lets not talk about those few ppl from each country who do wrong.. im sure every country has a share of such people.. n lets surely not talk about such few from pakistan!
anyway about IGC n the scam! Its unfortunate tht the whole country gets generalized for wat 3 ppl did in IGC.. India is not all about scam like its being told n perceived by all aftr IGC.. India does host good n well organized sporting events.. we have hosted ICC cricket world cup.. On going IPL where the best in the world are playing is just a proof tht india is not a scam! lets not forget the Indian grand prix 2011!!
If you would ask any indian gamer about wat thy felt about IGC before n wat thy feel about it now , there will not be much of a change.. not many indian teams were confident this event would be a hit n legit.. Even my team did not want to participate in this event for the same reason.. we have not had a big legit national tournament for a long time so we did not expect this to be true.. its just too good to be true so fast.. but we still did hope it was a big hit so tht a country like us would get more international teams traveling n playing in an indian event!
I would just like to say it was wrong in the way event organizers treated Moscow 5 n other international teams in the event , and feeel sorry for all the indian teams there who expected more from the event.. It makes us all angry n sad to see India being called a scam because of a few greedy and irresponsible companies who were into it for the wrong reason..
I hope in future we get more good international events atleast coming to india like ESWC etc. It would help the indian esport community to learn more and be able to organize a much more satisfying event.. for now i would just hope esports does not die in india.. n hope all teams get wat they deserve from IGC in terms of cash prize!
about the point some were making about moscow 5 manager rsponsible for not making proper study n research n ignoring criticism about this event being a fail.. its probably a valid point as other international teams did their homework and not travel for IGC.. unknown events like such should be looked into with caution but now the chance of international teams even thinking of playing in an indian event is all gone.. and the organizers of IGC are the only to be blamed..
Lets all hope there is some1 in india to host a big international event which meets all the expectations n gets the trust back in Indian esport community..
And please dont start the Pakistan/India-stuff here - this is not politics - its esports.
It is not at all only indians making it an issue around india.
I hope they'll give the prize money ....
