Macedonian squad ENTiTY claimed first place at DEFUSE OPEN #1 after defeating BGDonLINE in the final 16-8 on de_nuke and 16-11 on de_dust2.

DEFUSE OPEN #1 took place yesterday at a recently opened DEFUSE internet cafe in Belgrade, Serbia and aside from many teams from the country, ENTiTY from Macedonia and two squads from Bosnia & Herzegovina attended the tournament.

The Macedonian team entered as one of the main favorites for first place and they strolled through to the semi-final in a somewhat easier side of the bracket, where they met with MK.inuria. The young Bosnian squad put up surprisingly good resistance but still lost after two close maps 16-11 and 16-14, seeing ENTiTY through to the final.

On the other and harder side of the bracket, BGDonLINE came out on top, re-affirming their status of Serbia's top team after defeating their two main challengers. The ex E-Frag squad who recently returned to their BGDonLINE name met with iNation in the quarter-final where they recorded a hard-earned victory after three maps.

In the semi-final they met with DEFUSE, recent 4th place finishers from Skopje CS Masters. BGDonLINE overran their opponents in this late-hour clash as the match ended after easy 16-5 and 16-2 map-wins.

That set up a somewhat expected final between ENTiTY and BGDonLINE which started in the early hours of Sunday around 07:30 local time. Despite the obviouos fatigue, both teams were motivated to win, but ENTiTY showed from the start that they didn't travel all that way for nothing.

A 10-5 T-side on de_nuke put them in the driving seat and they closed out the first map with ease 16-8. On the second map de_dust2, BGDonLINE started on the T-side, but they only managed to take an 8-7 lead to the second half, which wasn't enough as ENTiTY's attacks brought the Macedonian team to a 16-11 victory and first place at the tournament.

In the 3rd place match, where both teams seemed very exhausted, DEFUSE defeated MK.inuria 16-12 and 16-2.

In addition to testing teams' skills, this event ended up being an endurance test for everyone involved as it lasted around 24 hours straight.
