swecon send Brasil Gaming packing
Brasill Gaming are out of DreamHack Summer 2012 after failing to overcome swecon in the on-site qualifier.
The first upset of DreamHack Summer 2012 has come in the main tournament's qualifier. Brasil Gaming, who have been practicing for over a week at Inferno Online in Stockholm, have lost their opening match of the playoffs.
With the encounter taking place on de_train, swecon managed to come off to the best start, but Brasil Gaming picked up some momentum and surpassed them to close the first half at 9-6.
Switching sides, both teams proceeded to take out a few rounds each, but at the score of 13-9 everything fell apart for the Brazilian veterans.
swecon, a team unknown to most readers, started hitting the crucial shots and reaped the benefits of doing just that. Ultimately, swecon moved past Brasil Gaming and sealed the victory at 16-14.

Someone expected them to get through? Even with Danes dodging I always felt Russians would still easily beat em. Getting beat by swedish "unknown" team is obviously a bit surprising but not a shocker by any means. Just proves that unless you get to play good teams constantly you wont stand a chance in a tournament like Dreamhack.

mock them if you want, I still find it a bit unfair that the byoc tournament is played bo1. Some teams come from as far as brazil only to play one map and go back... that would kill anyone's motivation for the game, not really what cs needs atm

Ofc rules are rules, I'm not saying they got betrayed or something, simply that considering DH is one of the last events with cs, and considering the byoc tournament has teams coming from the whole world, the least they could have done would be to make it as fair as possible, not as random as a bo1 single elimination format

Well.. SK.swe fell down 16-0 to the Norwegian team Catch Gamer back in 2006 @ WEG Masters, upsets DO happen. Anyone can have a bad match, I think we would have seen a different result in a bo3. I wish the brazilians the best.

If one top team can beat another top team 16-0, then it should not be so weird if a mediocre team beats a top team by small margins at a rare occasion.
Anyone can have an extremelly bad/good game, as seen today, swecon beats brasil gaming but got destroyed by a semi team right after, its not like fallen & co are horrible.

Yeah, they are underestimated in my opinion. Towards random mixes (especially at playnation.se) they kinda loose ALOT... But towards clans and "more structured" teams they actually play quite good, for example: Brasil.AMD, KerchNet, etc.
