After topping the BYOC qualifier, the two Russian teams Virtus.pro and zNation have secured their spots in the main tournament of DreamHack Summer 2012.
The BYOC qualifier ended moments ago with zNation defeating ColdGame 2-1, while Virtus.pro overcame SpelFronten with a 2-0 score.
zNation's opponent in the semi-final of the qualifier was a Swedish mix-team ColdGame, who already notched up a couple of notable wins earlier today. This morning they defeated a2g in the group stage of Swedish Championship which secured them a semi-final spot in that competition, while they also knocked out swecon at the BYOC qualifier, the team that defeated Brasil Gaming just before that.
The first map was de_inferno, ColdGame's pick, and it went down to the wire with zNation fighting out for an overtime in which they eventually prevailed 19-16. zNation's pick de_train followed where the Swedes took over from the start and won their T-side 10-5 and later the map 16-8. In the decider on de_nuke zNation proved to be the better team on the day as they came out with a 16-4 win to guarantee themselves a prolonged stay in Sweden.
