Group A's ESC Gaming and WinFakt played one of the opening matches at the main tournament at DreamHack Summer 2012 and it was the Poles that came out as winners with a 16-11 victory on de_tuscan.

In one of two opening matches at DreamHack Summer 2012, ESC Gaming overcame WinFakt to get their first 3 points thanks to a 16-11 win on de_tuscan.

The match started well for the Poles who won their T-side pistol round, but then they had a lot of trouble against WinFakt's ecos, which resulted in losing the third round and allowing the Swedes to even out the score in the next round at 2-2.

However, ESC was ready to respond and they got up to a 6-2 lead which later turned into 10-3. WinFakt reduced the deficit by the end of the half and the sides changed at 10-5.

Those last two rounds proved important for Björn "threat" Pers' team as they won the second half pistol and later the first buy round to bring the score to 10-9. But ESC decided not to save in the next round, and the risk paid off short term as they didn't allow WinFakt to even out the result, instead going up 11-9.

However, WinFakt responded straight away which eventually resulted in an 11-11 scoreline and the teams were right back where they started, with no rounds separating them.

At this moment, ESC stepped up and defended well until the end, winning five rounds in a row to clinch the opener 16-11.
