After a break due to the teams moving to DreamArena Extreme, the grand final was finished with fnatic emerging victorious in a three map series (16-11 on de_dust2, 7-16 on de_train and 16-7 on de_mirage).
Second map de_train kicked off about an hour after de_dust2 ended and saw Michael "Friis" Jørgensen score four knife kills to allow fnatic to start as counter-terrorists. fnatic scored a flawless pistol round win outside with Jørgensen getting two frags in tower followed up by Na`Vi's save round. Round three saw Sergey "starix" Ischuk and Ioann "Edward" Sukhariev combine two each to win and a close two-on-one win in the next round forced fnatic to save.
Round six saw Jørgensen illegally crouch look under the walls in six lane as fnatic tied the game at three. After that it looked like Natus Vincere's returned in-game leader Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko figured the opposition out as the best team of 2010 scored six straight rounds to put them ahead 9-3. fnatic came back at the end of the half to score the last three rounds to keep them in the game but six rounds as counter-terrorists is by no means what they were looking for.

Na`Vi ties it up at one each on de_train
fnatic rushed the lower ramp to the inner bomb site on their terrorist pistol round but despite of two early kills by Rasmus "Gux" Ståhl, the Ukrainians had no trouble retaking the site. Third round saw an ineffective push towards the inner site that was quickly shot down and Natus Vincere kept winning rounds until Yegor "markeloff" Markelov's three kill, ultimately unsuccessful one-on-four attempt that saw Ståhl miss out on an easy kill on him. That didn't phase Natus Vincere though as they won the next two rounds to win de_train 16-7 and even out the series.
It all came down de_mirage where it was Na`Vi's turn to start as counter-terrorists following a successful knife round. Once the game went live fnatic attacked the A bomb site on the pistol round and scored a win, similarly to their earlier de_mirage match in the group stage. Na`Vi had solid save rounds once again, but ultimately went on to lose both while getting four kills. Arseny "ceh9" Trynozhenko scored four kills in the fourth round.

fnatic win their second LAN tournament in a row
Markelov's crew won the next round as well but then lost four in a row before they could rebound and score two rounds on their own at 4-7. With Teslenko getting two frags on the twelveth round it looked like the Ukrainians were poised to win another round, but Richard "Xizt" Landström and Jørgensen won a two-on-five situation to force Na`Vi on a partial buy. Teslenko pushed deep into the halls and scored two early desert eagle headshots but fnatic once again prevailed with Ståhl getting three and Jørgensen calling Trynozhenko's bluff in the one-on-one. fnatic went on to win the final two rounds of the half as well, pushing their lead to 11-4 after multiple close calls that they were able to grind out their way.
Natus Vincere's pistol round was quickly shut down and they were facing a 4-13 deficit after a save round. Down in a three-on-five situation next round, Finn "karrigan" Andersen and Landström took risks by pushing out and died, giving the Ukrainians the advantage and they won the next round as well forcing fnatic to save. It looked like round six was going Na`Vi's way too with 20 seconds on the clock but Andreas "moddii" Fridh scored four huge frags after a Ukrainian miscommunication confused Ischuk and gave fnatic a 14-7 lead.
Next round went to fnatic easily as well, and a broke Na`Vi attempted a desert eagle strategy towards the A site in the final round where Andersen cleaned up in the end to crown fnatic DreamHack Summer 2012 champions 16-7, 2-1 overall.
DreamHack Summer 2012 final standings:
1.
fnatic - 50,000 SEK (~$7,268)
2.Natus Vincere - 25,000 SEK (~$3,634)
3-4.ESC Gaming - 12,500 SEK (~$1,817)
3-4.Virtus.pro - 12,500 SEK (~$1,817)
5-6.Moscow Five
5-6.WinFakt
7-8.SK Gaming
7-8.zNation
fnatic managed to win both tournaments held at DreamHack Summer as they defeated SK Gaming in final of the Swedish Championship yesterday for an additional 70,000 SEK (~$9,850).

>2 danish players
okay
Edit: And I'm a fan of fnatic, but you're just trolling.
Post edited 2012-06-18 16:57:41
But now its fnatic that's defending the swedish CS honour, not the austrailian.
So dont try anything^^
Fnatic might be the defending swedish champions, but when the next lan comes around fnatics team isn't fighting for the honor of Sweden but for the victory for their team and themselves as individuals.
There's a logic answer why fnatic CS division goes under the swedish national flag.
The majority of swedes in current fnatic lineup says it by itself, + (cArn - manager).
Consequently the historybooks will count this gold-medal as swedish, there are no freakin doubts about that, i can tell you.
Try again pls, you bitter fin. :D
fnatic top1
Why are you getting SK in this? We're talking about fnatic right?
It's not only Swedish skill end of story turn it flip it bow it, nothing will change.
you can always find new awpers that can hold a spot, but u cant find world class players as moddi in every corner

You are hilarious in all your fanboyism, it's ok to be proud and a fan of someone/something but please, have some common sense.
The fnatic team consists of 5 players, 2 of them are danish and 3 of them swedish. If they lost the swedes, they'd have to form or find another team. If the swedes lost the danes, they'd have to form or find a new team. Easy as that. It's not like they can just replace a player and say it's all k straight away.. Everyone is replaceable, the amount of work replacing someone is just overwhelming and it doesn't always mean personalities fit to form a team that's unified enough to win and lose together.

and you can argue about if they were motivated they would never have gone there but this can also be possibility that they were pretty sure that they cannot beat this fnatic team or they were fully prepared to face them as they did their homework and they had pretty much free time after their group stages finished
Post edited 2012-06-21 02:03:24
Before the Dreamhack they assumed they were in bad shape, and not struggled with a much lower premium than they usually win in major championships, they really have not played 20% of that can play whenever they want, we all know and they've proved in before.

Accept the bitter truth.
Before the Dreamhack they assumed they were in bad shape, and not struggled with a much lower premium than they usually win in major championships, they really have not played 20% of that can play whenever they want, we all know and they've proved in before.
It was surprising when he said that he didn't feel special, because I have always admired that guy. If you know him personally please tell him that.
So, who do you think will replace him?
He is still one of the most underapricatied players of all times.
If Kalle and his dad have resolved their issues, kalle will replace him, otherwise I don't know.
Kalle? Wow I was expecting that the replacement would be trace. I've heard Kalle's name but most people don't really think that it would be him. :\ What was wrong with Kalle's father? He won't let him play CS or something?
If his dad will let him play as a living it will be him from what I've heard.

I think they need some music in the background, it's so quiet on stage.
Yay fnatic <3~
Post edited 2012-06-18 17:05:43
And you're right about Xizt, he's so shy and looks very uncomfortable on stage and in interviews. I know it can be hard showing of emotions when during an interview, but come on :-D He won 70k SEK yesterday and 50k SEK today, how are you not thrilled then?

Expected. With ceh9 in the team Na`Vi won't win anything.
Post edited 2012-06-18 17:12:11
markeloff,friis,karrigan
yet?
starix,FalleN,fRoD
yet?
SIXER,foxj,aslak, even RobbaN
ROTFL
someone is always last in stats in every team
You don't know what it takes to win, you don't know what it means to be a team and you certainly shouldn't criticize one of the very best lineups in the history of CS in such a way.
As a fan of CS and as a fan of the players in Na`Vi except for ceh9 I absolutely have the right to criticize any team and say my opinion and express myself. You have the same rights to so go ahead. ceh9 sucks and everyone knows it, Na`Vi won't win sh*t if he keeps playing for them unless Zeus, starix, Edward and markeloff REALLY step up.
The NaVi players know that ceh9 is a great player and as starix said; most people in the community have no clue what it means to be a team - he was talking about people like you.
Starix has to understand that just because they have played for so long together it doesn't have to mean it will last forever, sometimes changes are needed and in this case, not so big changes are needed just -ceh9 and they can be champs' again.
About ceh9, he does suck and he shouldn't be playing with legends as markeloff, starix, Zeus and Edward, they are legends not ceh9 because he hasn't done sh*t. I would understand if he was the IGL and sucked that much but jeez, he's not even that..!
Your understanding of how CS should be played is different from a lot of other people (including the NaVi players) so it can not be a fact, it is your opinion.
Therefore it isn't the truth, it is an opinion from a newbie perspective (yours), which was my point. If you don't understand that, let some of your friends explain it to you, or your parents, good luck.
You don't understand the game, the NaVi players certainly understand it better than you and believing your own opinion suddenly becomes the truth is just sad, cya.
I don't understand the game as much as the other 4 Na`Vi players but I understand enough to say that ceh9 sucks and it's not just my opinion. It's a fact because he keeps showing it tournament after tournament.
From your perspective (aka your understanding of the game) he sucks, but that doesn't make it a fact, that makes it your opinion.
Here is a fact for you: He is part of one of the most successful lineups in history and hasn't been kicked for a very long time.
You see the game in a certain way and from your point of view he is not good. That is an opinion, not a fact.
If you don't understand it by now your are officially braindead. Most people in here already know that though.
nice fnatic
fnatic win 9,800$
DH summer
fnatic win 7,300$
17,100 fnatic win for two tourney
cry more navi fanboys cry more pls
doing so much damage!
GZ fnatic!
But individual skill of fnatic players > na`vi
Only markeloff and Edward play with technique. Yes zeus,starix,ceh9 play good, but modii, karrigan and xizt better.
Maybe, if na`vi ban mirage, they will show more for us. And on dust2 so many fails, as always, when invidual skill of modii, karrigan destroyed na`vi in simple situations.
We see, that on paper Na`Vi top1, but who cares? In game(at this momemnt):
1. fnatic
2. Na`Vi
3. SK
etc.
P.S. I hate fanboys from South America(so not from Sweden), they are so funny, their countries have nothing in cybersport and criticize any team except of fnatic. At this moment, only Na`Vi were good with fnatic, other teams like a shit(esc,sk,m5), sad but true.
Dont blame lurrpis, he made rating with using results in major tournaments, fnatic had only 1st place on CPH Games at that time.
Post edited 2012-06-18 17:34:47
And if you can read, i wrote that they are "top1 on paper", but "top2 in game"(after fnatic at this moment).
Post edited 2012-06-18 21:24:48
Open your eyes and look results.
zeus wanna do something but he aint got that individual skills as the former 2, let alone the fn 5 madfragger with fkn insane aim and boiled confidence, when it comes to markeloff, he can frag but aint he forgot the most important thing a sniper should do: to let your opponents scared and outshaped, u could easily learn that no fn players got scared eventhough they got fragged, when it comes to ceh9, he is good, but when he is good, navi will always lose, at least thats the truth when navi on t side
can someone tell me what happened then ? :)

SO DESERVED!
Brilliant stuff by fnatic. Totally deserved it.
I didn't watched the author of this news. But after the sentence above, I was sure thats lurppis.
i made a little clip about it for my sake of argument before people start flaming, not sure how to up the youtube quality so it's not great but i also uploaded the file separately for better quality; you can definitely see under the wall.
youtube: http://youtu.be/wdYNSufWNNM
download: http://speedy.sh/3fYqQ/friiswall.avi
Is looking thru the pillar in inner Bombsite in de_train legal
The pillar is jus behind the bombsite towards the ladder when u r facing lower area. U wil know...
U da besta...
I asked cuz i saw robban or face duin that against fnatic in Swe. Championship :)
You really have a valid point..
I saw it in HLTV and was amazed not cuz of seeing thru wall thing, but as there is no smoke in HLTV, friis was atleast had his crossair for 10+ sec on him, obviously he cudn' see him...
It was funny though in HLTV :P
i have nothing at all against fnatic or friis, in fact i think friis played his best tournament in fnatic so far this weekend so props to him for that, but looking under the walls is highly questionable and unsportsmanlike.
Post edited 2012-06-18 20:13:46
i still don't actually understand why you think i might be mad or hate fnatic, i go by the results and facts i draw from them. i'll be the first to admit that fnatic is the best team in the world right now, but they weren't until they won this tournament.
the predictions at the end are just thrown there to give users something to talk about, the actual point of the previews is the text body talking about said teams.
In prediction you write fnatic 1-2 NaVi.
U wrote on CPH reviews that fnatic doesnt stand a chance against top teams without even seeing them play once which is hate for me. They end up winning the tournament.
Post edited 2012-06-18 20:40:53
besides, i said fnatic would win on de_mirage and de_dust2 vs esc, and had i had time to write a preview for grand final separately, i think i would have gone over maps and said they will win those maps vs na`vi as well - i just didn't think na`vi would let them in the rotation.
that's hate? wow, you must be the most stuck up fan boy there is. i honestly still don't think fnatic is great because i think they have five players of whom none have emerged as the star player and they play fnatic 2009 style cs with very little strategy. to me it seems like a weak year of counter-strike where their opposition isn't as good, but regardless they are still the best.
+111
lurppis continue saying that fnatic cant make it. that make fnatic won then :D
How is this calculated? :p
what means that? i dont understand that phrase (am speak spanish)
you can't say that about esc or na'vi and sk....
(sad but true....)
on the bigger tournament when every team will motivated we will see if fnatic is the best :)
I think na'vi and esc will take first and second place
