lurppis to AEC Malaysia with Karnal
Former WinFakt captain Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen will be standing in for Karnal at Asia E-Sports Cup Malaysia this weekend in Kuala Lumpur.
Kovanen initially offered his services as a ringer for the upcoming Asia E-Sports Cup qualifiers in our first news post announcing the event. After some planning, it's finally confirmed that he will be representing Karnal at the Malaysian qualifier largely thanks to fellow HLTV.org employee Maxim "mitz0r" Maximov who plays for Karnal.
lurppis returns to CS in Kuala Lumpur this weekend
The Malaysian qualifier for Asia E-Sports Cup will be held this coming weekend at Invasion Cyber Zone in Kuala Lumpur. So far the participants list includes Hybrid, Orange and Karnal, the top three teams from the country. Signing up is still possible at CyAC's website. Winners will receive up to $5,000 in travel support to Tokyo as well as free accommodation during the finals.

AEC finals will take place during Tokyo Game Show 2012 on September 20-23 in the Japanese capital and will feature a $16,500 prize purse for the four teams from Japan, India, Malaysia and Singapore.

They'll be speaking english in its broken form. In Malaysia and Singapore, broken english (asian english) is very common.

Actually, they (Asian teams) speak very good English. They don't have a good flow but it's rarely incorrect.

dont know about malaysia but my signaporian friends speak way more fluid natural english than the heavily accented swenglish ive heard by most swede anyway.

Actually i interviewed a bazillion for some kaostv clips on the several trips, and spoke to many swe players as commentator at 2 dh events. I just happened to bump into the 100 swe ppl of which 99 either barely spoke English or spoke broken English or with heavy accent? :p

hmm...all the top5 teams in India are equally skilled since there always is a rotation in the top standings in local tourneys. This is good with respect to Indian CS scene, but i highly doublt if we'll be able to do any damage to the outsiders. We lost to Austrailians back in WCG(i think), that was the biggest disapointment.

Not really. Brutality has been raping everyone since a past few months (ATE included)... Mostly under 16-10 and quite frequently under 16-5 as well.

according to aec rules you have to be 60% from the country to participate in the qualifier, so a team needs 3 people from any country to play in the qualifier.
unless tyloo uses only 2 chinese players they cant play in the singaporean qualifier.
"For teams, at least 60% of the members must be citizens of the country they qualify in. CYAC or the national partner reserves the right to ask for proof of citizenship." (http://www.asiaesportscup.com/tournament -- RuleBook at the bottom)

Finally, cs news in Malaysia. I believe lurppis and karnal will most likely pwn in this event. Great chance for cs pros in Msia to meet up with lurppis though. Malaysians normally speak english or malay but there is also indian and chinese :)
