The first in the series of Go4CS:GO cups organized by ESL finished last night with mTw's victory over French squad MAXISAUCISSE, 16-14 on de_dust2_se and 16-5 on de_nuke_se.
Even though the first of four scheduled weekly Go4CS:GO cups started way back on July 8, the final was postponed for yesterday. In it, mTw met MAXISAUCISSE, a French squad that knocked out Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund's and Richard "Xizt" Landström's mix-team ROCKSTAR in the quarter-final after overtime.
The battle started on de_dust2_se with mTw on the T side, and this intercontinental squad that features a Canadian player took a 10-5 lead. In the second half MAXISAUCISSE started mounting a comeback and they evened the score at 12-12, leading into a tight finish of the first map.
Several rounds were exchanged but still nothing separated the two teams, with the score still even heading into the 29th round. mTw were then forced to have an eco, hoping to bring the game to overtime, but their only Swedish player Alexander "rdl" Redl stepped up and recorded 4 kills to bring his team the crucial round. The next and last round of the half also went down to the wire and it was again mTw that came out on top, thus closing out the map with a 16-14 victory.
The second map was de_nuke_se where mTw started on the favored CT side and took a convincing 11-4 lead, partly thanks to Brandon "Weber" Weber's several clutch plays. After taking the second half pistol mTw didn't give MAXISAUCISSE a chance, and despite of dropping one round, they quickly brought the match to a close with a 16-5 result.
mTw's lineup for this tournament was:
Brandon "Weber" Weber
George "hudzG" Hoskins
Andre "nooky" Utesch
Alexander "rdl" Redl
Joshua "steel" Nissan
If you want to check out the match yourself, you can find the VOD here.
Final standings of Go4CS:GO Cup #1
1.
mTw - 100€
2.MAXISAUCISSE
3.VeryGames
4.CodeRed
mTw received 100€ for their victory and they will have a good chance of qualifying for the monthly cup as one of the top eight teams in the monthly rankings.
MAXISAUCISSE have also practically qualified and are currently leading the rankings thanks to adding a 3rd place finish from the second cup that took place last Sunday.
The final of that second cup was also postponed and it will be played tonight at 21:00 between two French teams, VeryGames and Evokate, with ESL TV's Joe Miller casting the match here. Both of those teams were knocked out of the first cup by its winners mTw, who didn't take part in the second edition.
Go4CS:GO cup #3 is also on the way, scheduled for July 22 and the signups are open to everyone.

And sorry to disappoint you, but the game is based about 80% on CSS and only about 10% on 1.6. The remaining 10% is original, but terrible ideas like the molotov cocktail and restructuring the buy menu for no reason.
The recoil is so messed up that it is not uncommon to see a T and CT meet at opposite ends of dust_2 middle (one at cat, one at top of mid) and both spend their entire clips without anyone dying. It's absurd.
I don't know what this is, but it isn't Counter-Strike. It's Counter-Strike gametype and that's about it.
TL;DR Promod is our only hope.

We will continue to cover any and all CS 1.6 events there are, regardless of our other activities.
Lame.
We did not cover CS:S because it was irrelevant from our perspective, CS 1.6 was the FPS game of choice for all big tournaments, and spending resources on CS:S would not be something that could pay itself off. With CS 1.6 now not appearing on so many events we have paid staff that has less work to do, so I could either sack Nix0n, Tgwri1s and lurppis, and be unable to cover the few 1.6 events that still remain, or I can put them to work covering other games, and keep them around for when we need them for CS 1.6.
So you tell me who is out of line here again.
Hltv.org is and it always will be about CS 1.6 ...
When I see news about CS:GO I feel like I wanna throw up :(
FFS
Thats your opinion, that you think it sucks, doesnt give you the right to ask for it to be removed, wtf, your opinion is not the only viable one.
Learn to tolerate other people, there is people who do enjoy reading about CS GO (Me being one of them).
So please, just stop posting stupid comments about what you think of cs go in every post that contains cs go news, just dont fucking open the post, is it so fucking hard ?
As Nomad said, how does it affect you that they cvover CS GO, as logn as they keep covering 1.6, it doesnt affect you whatsoever.
Its like if you start whining all day because they put basketball on tv apart from football, and you only like football, does that mean that they can only show football because you dislike basketball ? LET ME ANSWER FOR YOU, NOOOO THEY CANS TILL PUT BASKETBALL ON TV BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE LIKE IT...
Now pelase cut your bulsshit posts.
</rant>
Fuck, please think before posting.
I won't = in the future !!!
Please go learn some English , I'm not a teacher over here ...
if u read CS:GO why did u came and post ??
It was boring and my eyes was bleeding.
wich is not a surprise since everyone knows 1.6 has the shittiest netcode ever ..wich is why only LAN games are accurate

If you didnt care, you wouldn't reply in the first place. Saying, and taking the effort to actually write about it, is implying you do care since you want to show the rest of the world how you feel about it. "Hello world, this is me, and this is how i feel"
So, in short, the best way to show that you actually dont care, is not to reply to the item. This will be very hard, i know. To the guy below, and i know you will reply with " i dont care" i say: Thank you for caring :)

Stop crying about how you're disappointed. Don't come to the site then because I, for one, am very interested in seeing news on CS:GO and seeing if players like GTR, moddii, markeloff, NEO or others will switch over and how the transisiton is like.
Starcraft made the best transition into Starcraft 2 and now the prize money is in the millions each year with hundreds of huge to smaller tournaments for professional players in all teams that we followed in 1.6. Start supporting or stop complaining.

Is CSGO better than 1.6 ? Certainly not.
Peace son.
But tell me what about all those newspapers with rankings for cellphones , with arguments and both products , cant they tell that : man that galaxy is technicly way better than the nokia c3 but the nokia is way more robust...
Are you going to write to them : wow how can you say nokia is shit nowadays? My opinion is ....
Well let me tell that people who experienced both things in long term CAN crush your opinion , when you put both games one near the other its clear 1.6 is a better game , now after all those years we need a change it"s clear , but NO SERIOUS PLAYER WILL ACCEPT TO SWITCH TO AN INFERIOR GAME BY FACTS , with money pro playes might but BELIEVE ME CSGO is following the same path as his sister CSS , personnaly I believe it's gonna be more like cscz flop fail but I dont want to sound too harsh to you son , peace out.
Its a site about Counter Strike.
Those that are saying hltv is simply a 1.6 site, you my friend are an idiot.
I do care

What is this game seriously? A Joke.....?
CS:Source is very very much better than CS:GO and CS 1.6 will be the best 4ever. People, don't stop play cs 1.6 =)
The point of all this things are about the GUYS WHO CREATED THE CS:GO, they really don't care about the players who dislike CS:GO (Maybe I'm wrong...)
but is that what looks like, because they are removing CS 1.6 and putting CS:GO.
They want to be recognized in all community for FPS-GAMING(MODERN WARFARE, BATTEFIELD, CSS, CS 1.6 and other FPS-GAMING).
The reality is... CS 1.6 have low graphics and it is a old game, because of that, the sponsors of Video Cards they saw the others games and they got one conclusion that CS 1.6 is exceeded. THEY DIDN'T WON MONEY with CS 1.6 like in the past, because in nowadays we are living in another ERA OF TECNOLOGY and everything in the world is about how much you will win or lost money !
But I have to say here, CS 1.6 was the BEST, IS THE BEST, AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE BEST OF ALL FPS-GAMING !!! (I'M SAYING THE BEST, because none FPS-GAMING have ever get close of the way to play with one gun!!!That's why this game is SO POPULAR in THIS WORLD xD!!!
CS 1.6 NEVER WILL DIE, WILL BE ALWAYS IN OUR MIND.
1.6 isn't just a name it's a patch number. It wasn't created that way. It took a few years to become 1.6. You all need to grow up.
Brb loading up cs beta 0.8. /sarcasm
or better to say: how can I get access to CS:GO? :P
