Following our earlier announcement featuring 21 teams for GameGune 2012, the Kazakhstani team k23 built around Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev has signed up as well.
The team hasn't been together officially in years due to Kystaubayev joining United and then moving to China in 2010 for school. However, they attended ASUS Open Summer 2010 and defeated Natus Vincere in the semi-finals before losing against Lions.

k23 includes three players of NEXT at WCG 2011
Most recently three of their players represented Kazakhstan under the name of NEXT at World Cyber Games 2011 where they managed a fourth place finish following losses against ESC Gaming and Moscow Five.
k23 at GameGune 2012:
Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev
Alexander "beAst" Yakovlev
Dastan "dastan" Akbaev
Adlet "KeeN" Nyrseytov
Malik "N1ck3L" Sualirov
There are still two more slots open at GameGune 2012 which will kick off on Thursday in Bilbao. HLTV.org will bring you full coverage of the event on-site.

The term Kazakhstani (Kazakh: қазақтар, Qazaqtar; Russian: казахи, kazakhy) was coined to describe all citizens of Kazakhstan, including non-Kazakhs.[11] The word "Kazakh" is generally used to refer to people of ethnic Kazakh descent (including those living in China, Afghanistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and other countries).

You've got a misprint, his name's Malik.
Also, it's correct to use "Kazakhstani" because roster is not completely consists of Kazakhs. Beast's Russian but has Kazakhstan citizenship, therefore, he's Kazakhstani. Others are Kazakhs but we all are still Kazakhstani.
Btw. I'm sad that my fav. team, SK, won't attend :(
The best K23 Line-up in my opinion:
MihaO - sick awp...
AdreN - no comments, just monstah :DDD
N1ck3L - sick aim
beAst - great IGL
ANV1k - sick aim + great clutcher.
P.S. Go Na`Vi and K23!
2 my fav teams.

WMF had the most insane tactics imo, they must of practiced some of them atleast 150+ times in a server by themselves to get them right. Look up some youtube videos, some of the shit that they did was mindblowing. They played like absolute machines.
The Americans always say they can't attend on European tournaments because of missing sponsors and expensive travel cost blablabla.
But why is a new formed team from Kazakhstan (that's almost the same distance to Spain) able to attend at GG?
Send Maximum Effort to GG!
they had a few good results like you the ones you listed, but overall they got high placings due to easy groups and/or brackets.
I dont realy remeber what groups they have been in for every event, but it sounds like a very cheap excuse xD
not really making an excuse of why they got far at tournaments, why would I? just saying that they didn't upset THAT many teams even though they placed very well at several big events. don't think they ever beat the poles, fnatic, SK or mTw for instance. could be wrong!
You are not wrong:) They only attended to Events in that area such ASUS and Arbalet, and then ofc WCG and they had few others here and there, but they never attended to DH, ESWC or IEM. So they never realy had the chance to play against mTw, fnatic etc.
Always fun to watch AdreN play!
gl brother nickel :)
KAZAKHSTAN IS THE GREATEST COUNTY IN THE WORLD
ALL THE OTHER COUNTIES IS RULE BY LITTLE GIRLS
But they played pretty good like i remember anyway gl to k23!
