fnatic, Na`Vi win matches
Time: 2012-07-26 21:06
Game: Counter-Strike 1.6

fnatic has defeated DELTA 16-8 on de_dust2 to top group A at GameGune 2012 while Natus Vincere opened their tournament with a commanding 16-0 win over miticos on the same map.

The Danish-Swedish team won their terrorist pistol round and the two save rounds that followed to go up three nothing. DELTA won round four convincingly, but fnatic switched to a higher gear after an attack towards the B bombsite which saw them gain money control.

At 1-7 for fnatic, DELTA was on the verge of scoring their second round, but Michael "Friis" Jorgensen's four kills secured yet another round for fnatic. Round fourteen saw Tomasz "ths" Sopel score his first kills as he killed two fnatic players in B tunnels, but his team still lost the round on their way to a 1-14 half.

fnatic undefeated after day one

Second half started with Artur "dOK" Kaleta winning a misplayed one-on-three situation and his team racked up the next two rounds. fnatic won round four, and similarly to first half the Poles went on a run to make it 8-15. However, Patryk "sonamed" Zamulski wasn't able to convert another one-on-three situation on round ten as Finn "karrigan" Andersen took him down and secured fnatic the group win.

these euro teams with the exception of fnatic, navi, and esc are just awful. americans would easily make top 3 at every tournament.
2012-07-26 21:33:44
HAHAHAHHAH americans are the shit on cs, keep dreaming bro..
2012-07-26 21:43:25
that nothing swag team would actually be able to hurt most of european teams, id say they are at same level as winfakt, virtus pro etc.
2012-07-26 21:57:06
no they are not.
2012-07-26 22:05:37
are u serious? i was watching delta and x6 play and both of them are considered mid-top tier in europe and they both are clueless. they don't know how to run any type of decent setups at all. for god's sake, it was dust2 - the most popular map of all time. just stop. i can tell u for sure that n0thing's team would get top 3 at gamegune for sure.

This system sux hard. Dunno who the hell implemented it. So basically kick won't be playing with 1st seeded team in group, as well as Delta won't play arguably lowest seeded team in group. Talk about equal chances.
2012-07-26 21:37:53
ask to lurppis, he made it
2012-07-26 21:44:16
the system works ok but would prefer that each team atleast meet eatchother atleast once, but this system makes it less random

Think of such a situation. There are 4 teams in a group a Tier 1 team who should not loose over 10 round in any group match (usually the favouries like fnatic in this case) some Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams that are pretty equal and Tier 4 who are level lower then others and theoritically loses all 3 matches.
What happens now is let's say Tier 3 beats Tier 2, assuming all teams lose to Tier 1 and wins against Tier 4 it's 2Wins/1Lose for this team - surely a deserved spot in playoffs since they have beaten a team they were fighting the spot against.

What happens here is: the score doesn't matter if the winners are the team who play Tier 4 next, since they are having 2 wins, other have 2 loses and it's all ok. Then if it's the opposite then they have to repeat a match against each other. So the chances to advance are not equal since(talking all the time about mentioned Tier2 and Tier3 teams only):
1. They are not playing every team in group.
2. One of those teams has to win both matches against each other, while another has only to win the second one, equals the chances are not at the same level. (explained above)
