DELTA have unexpectedly eliminated Virtus.pro from GameGune 2012 in the lower bracket semi-final, thanks to a 16-6 win on de_dust2 and a 16-14 win on de_inferno. In the other lower bracket match, an all-Ukrainian clash, Natus Vincere defeated KerchNET after two maps (16-13 on de_inferno, 16-10 on de_tuscan).

The surprise of the tournament, DELTA, met with Virtus.pro who had just come off a close loss to fnatic. Same as in that match, de_dust2 was the first map and Virtus.pro started on the CT side, which made it seem that DELTA had little chances of winning seeing as the Russian side beat fnatic 16-7 on it.

However, the Poles continued surprising and they acquired an 11-4 lead at half time, which they quickly turned into 16-6, never really allowing the Russians to get back into it.

The second map, de_inferno, was much more exciting with Virtus.pro starting with a vengeance and taking 5-0 and later 6-2 leads. But DELTA was always on their heels and at the end of the half the Poles even turned the score around to their favor, 8-7.

Virtus.pro still wanted to stay in the tournament and they once again took the first five rounds of a half for a 12-8 lead, but DELTA just kept coming back and eventually they were ahead again 15-13. It all came down to the last round, but Virtus.pro couldn't stop the second best Polish team and thus the map ended 16-14.

After dropping to the lower bracket of GameGune 2012 due to a close loss against ESC Gaming, Natus Vincere had to defeat KerchNET if they wanted another chance to reach the very top. On the other hand, the less experienced Ukrainians have been fighting through the lower bracket since last night when they sent tp.uSports home, and they did the same with Karont3 this morning.

The first map was de_inferno and KerchNET had a brilliant start, defending the bombsites successfully in eight of the first ten rounds. Natus Vincere wouldn't be who they are if they didn't have an answer to that, and by the end of the half they had almost neutralized that advantage, being down just 7-8.

KerchNET still kept the lead though, winning their terrorist side pistol round and later having a 13-11 advantage, but Na`Vi's Yegor "markeloff" Markelov led the comeback for a 16-13 victory with his 17 frags in the second half.

The second map was de_tuscan, and even though KerchNET have had very respectable results on it in the past, including taking Na`Vi's scalp at WCG Ukraine 2011, this time the more experienced side took care of business in the expected manner.

Natus Vincere won the first half 11-4 as CT and despite losing the next pistol round and the score being 11-7 they got themselves up on the scoreboard right when they needed to. Soon it was 15-8 and even though KerchNET held on to the last straw, they finally slipped away a few rounds later as Na`Vi won 16-10.
