Game: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

The organizers of ESEA League have picked 12 teams for the upcoming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive invite season.

Having reached out to players of several communities, the organizers have invited teams with backgrounds in the fields of CS 1.6, CS: Source, CS: Global Offensive and even Call of Duty.

Three CS 1.6 teams, four from CS: Source, four teams who played in the last season's CS: Global Offensive league and one team from the competitive Call of Duty community have been picked.

Infinity Effort is one of the teams from our own community. Three of the players, Brennan "ele1Nt" Webster, Sean "sgares" Gares and Kory "semphis" Friesen, were a part of the Maximum Effort team who beat UMX in the recent ESEA Invite Season 11 Finals.

Braxton "swag" Pierce, who had quite a showing during the grand final match against UMX, will be playing together with former Evil Geniuses member Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert in Flaming Rainbows, who played in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive league last season.

Dynamic, one of the most decorated teams of Counter-Strike: Source history, are also among the attending teams.

ESEA Invite CS:GO Season 12 team list:

 Infinity Effort (Counter-Strike: 1.6)
sapphirekelowna (Counter-Strike: 1.6)
 mouseSpazGO (Counter-Strike: 1.6)
 Dynamic-CSGO (Counter-Strike: Source)
BLiGHTzomblerz (Counter-Strike: Source)
 Murder Inc (Counter-Strike: Source)

 Flaming Rainbows (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive)
 eX Gaming (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive)
North Stars United (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive)

Will be cool to see the Call of Duty team in action, that's for sure. They're skilled players.

Haha, I'm actually serious. The players are very good. If they have their tactics in place, I honestly think they can beat any other team.

Best admin =)
2012-07-31 17:35:43
lol
2012-07-31 19:49:45
CS 1.6 have greater aiming skill from CSS player 'cause of 1.6's recoil pattern(CSS are random so you just need to pull down xhair vertically).
CSS player have more experience in tactics but obviously one CS 1.6 player could take 2 CSS player frags so it's on 1.6 favor.
if CS 1.6 player lose it means 1.6ers won't be able to adapt to CS:GO because CSS player will owns. lol

players from a game that requires lower skill defeat players that comes from harder game.

I'm not going to play that game :P
2012-07-31 14:40:08
Sense level:-999
2012-07-31 14:42:32
I have no sense D:
2012-07-31 14:46:29
"CSS player have more experience in tactics"

at this part i realized that reading the rest of your comment probably wouldnt make any sense either
2012-07-31 14:57:30
He probably ment. becouse the cs:go maps are very much like the cs:s maps, the cs:s players will have the advantage when it comes to tactics.
2012-07-31 16:55:37
did you watch the finals of that csgo cup thing with rockstar (gtr, xizt, f0rest, blabla, blabla)
vs a mix of top source players?

rockstar owned them hard
2012-07-31 21:58:31
I meant 1.6ers should have better aim.
2012-08-01 06:00:45
1.6ers DO obviously have better aim. the recoil in CSGO is too hard for saucers
2012-08-01 10:32:08
LoL its like, "you saw how Canada hockey team won Belarus" I mean like Belarus is not very weak but Canada is WAY TOO TALANTED, same with worckstar, some sourcers just cant handle these guys...
2012-08-01 08:26:06
and then they got crushed by CS:S side VeryGames 16-6
2012-08-01 13:53:17
"CS 1.6 have greater aiming skill from CSS player 'cause of 1.6's recoil pattern(CSS are random so you just need to pull down xhair vertically)."
Isn't recoil in GO more similar to Source than to 1.6?

"CSS player have more experience in tactics but obviously one CS 1.6 player could take 2 CSS player frags so it's on 1.6 favor."
Yeah, we all remember - CS:S is more tactical
2012-07-31 14:58:23
css pattern are not random..
2012-07-31 15:04:10
ITS NOT?! D: holy crap how do I own those pubs?

Hope CS 1.6 team will win in this egly cs go tornament
2012-07-31 14:50:52
I can't wait to see what the prize pool looks like for this event.
2012-07-31 14:55:20
100k dollars first place
2012-07-31 15:20:28
$20,000 is divided between the winner and runners-up, so how's 100k possible? That comes from a tournament with a registration fee.
2012-08-02 09:44:49
lol don't know any of those teams :D:D:D
2012-07-31 14:55:43
Weird that maximum effort didnt all just stay together and play as a team..

2012-07-31 14:57:17
Can you give me lineups? :)
2012-07-31 14:59:13
Maximum Effort the past 1.6 season invite champs were all the players that were listed in the news post.

Brennan "ele1Nt" Webster
Sean "sgares" Gares
Kory "semphis" Friesen
Braxton "swag" Pierce
Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert
2012-07-31 15:07:46
Yeah I know, I meant lineups from teams in this CS:GO cup. But I dont need it now, thanks :D
2012-07-31 15:18:42
dont see why you would call it weird. it says n0thing and swag played with flaming last season for go. sticking with the same team in the same game for more than one season = weird? :p
2012-08-01 02:39:21
cs:go is not that bad

i think, now i need to use filter
2012-07-31 15:09:28
CS:GO is quite similar to CS:S so I think Source teams have better chances...
2012-07-31 15:16:59
lol cs 1.6 teams are so low tier
gg wp
seriously, sAuce kids are gonna win, they're like main/invite teams and the 1.6 are fucking open/intermediate or some shit.

1.6 wont rise again, no matter what...

hold mouse1 (Call of Duty)
looooool
2012-07-31 17:03:09
To the idiots that comment with bullshit, if you don't want to read CS:GO news, just filter it out and refrain from making stupid comments.
2012-07-31 17:04:38
Well i bet 95% of the idiots dont even know what the filter is.
2012-07-31 17:26:48
If you don't care about csgo, why you are here?
Use the filter moron, don't fuck with the community.
2012-07-31 17:21:09
I also don't care about CS:GO but I'm checking the news just as well so that when it fails, i can say "told you so" :D
2012-07-31 17:51:58
This is why GO will be the most played CS!

Sourcers
1.6
CoD
BF3
Team Fortress 2

players will all have a bunch of players playing GO.
2012-07-31 18:01:26
this
2012-07-31 22:59:13
Stop the retard fest in the comments please. Thanks.
2012-07-31 18:16:35
Surprised to see a COD team in there. I wonder how they will do. Only name I notice it rob-wiz who has been good at so many diffrent FPS games I wouldn't be surprised if he was good at GO also.

Hopefully the game can improve and get to a level where everyone enjoys it. If not, o well I will just keep playing 1.6 and maybe promod.
2012-07-31 19:37:39
oh wow, rob-wiz is playing? Nice!
2012-07-31 22:06:01
Nice to see a CoD team in there, perhaps we will be seeing instead of two direct communities merging, a third also merging which means the game will have greater chances to suceed for the future. Great stuff.
2012-07-31 21:04:13
It's a source game with source-like maps. 1.6 teams are at a huge disadvantage
2012-07-31 21:54:11
Admins, can you please ban the fucktards bashing CS:GO? There is a filter in place, right? I'ts very annoying to read the commengs and see a ton of childish replies. It doesn't dignify the HLTV.org community or the website.

I keep remembering the transition from 1.5 and 1.6. It was even worse that this, but 1.6 did rule for almost a decade. Let's hope for the best and have faith that, with some key tweaks, it can be become a worthy successor.
2012-08-01 00:03:14
just sayng, ive played the cod guys and my team is as good as half the invite teams right now...we lost 16-5, 16-3, 16-10...there nothing to joke about. they all play cs b4 specially source. so yeah there gonna do good and prob get the LAN. just saying =P
2012-08-01 00:19:51
