DH Valencia to feature CS 1.6

Game: Counter-Strike 1.6

DreamHack Valencia will be featuring a Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament with a 5,000€ prize pool and a wildcard to DreamHack Winter for the winning team.
Despite last month's news, in which DreamHack Valencia's administration contacted us to state that games had not been set for the event, a Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament will take place.

The tournament will just like last year's edition feature eight teams, four of them found via the on site BYOC qualifier, another four via a pre-qualifier and invites.

DreamHack Valencia will start with a group stage, four teams in each group, playing best-of-one map and top two from each will advance to the playoffs, played single-elimination and best-of-three maps.

It's said the tournament will have a 5,000€ prize purse, but could increase as they look to close deals with more sponsors.

The winner will receive a wildcard for DreamHack Winter, though no details have been released about any CS related tournament at DreamHack Winter.

DreamHack Valencia will run September 21-23 at Feria Valencia, the largest exhibition center in Spain and the fourth biggest in Europe.

Nothing official yet as the news state but it would be strange to feature DH stops with 1.6 (Bucharest, Valencia) and not featuring the game in the main event. Especially if a wildcard is at stake.

because giving cs 1.6 the tournament is giving gamers drink water even they don't participate cs 1.6 is part of the international gaming and should never be banned from an event the smart management decided correctly to keep cs 1.6

Well, the dude behind DreamHack said it in an interview not long ago, that Starcraft and Counter-Strike and Quake if I am not mistaken will be on almost each and every tournament they will throw.

DH Bucharest couldn't miss CS because PGL is the godfather on CS here in Romania.

DH Valencia, well it seems DH has found some godfather of CS in Spain also.

And DH winter will most likely feature CS, at least this year, dunno about next one.
