15,000€ event in Porto announced
15,000€ will be up for grabs at Pro Gamer Series Exponor, taking place October 11-14 in Porto, Portugal.
It has been a little over two months since Porto featured the last event, which was the xfunction Fraglider Cup by CJM. A new event has now been announced to take place in October, featuring a 15,000€ prize purse.
The event will see support from peripherals manufacture Ozone, naming the tournament PGS Ozone Counter-Strike 1.6.
The 15,000€ prize purse will be split between top three finishing teams, with the following breakdown:
1. 9,000€
2. 4,000€
3. 2,000€
In the announcement it is mentioned that this event is an invite only event. Teams wanting to take part in this event will have to contact the organizers by going here.

yes. but as the big lans dissapear do does the top players will to play the game practice and be at top level. less and less cares. they start playing dota2 / csgo 3x more then cs1.6 and when the games are released we will lose alot of the CS 1.6 top players

it seems that cs 1.6 is going pretty well around here... so you can go fuck urself IEM, ESWC, WCG.
we don't need big LANS, small lans and dedicated players/staff will carry on with 1.6.
And btw, this event will also host 5000e Starcraft II tournament, sponsered by MSi.

Big teams like fnatic could very well this tournament. Flight plus accomodation is around 500€ per player (around 300€ for the flight and 200€ for a room and food). Since they're fighting for the 1st place, they make a good profit from the experience. Even if then take 2nd place they're still winning money (even at 750€ per player which is a bit overpriced).
Anyway, I will cheer for the strongest portuguese team (most likely K1ck)), but we may see big teams in this tournament and it will be MUCH more difficult than our the last "big" one.
