ASUS Summer Cup announced

ASUS Open has announced their next qualifying cup open for up to 512 teams with 45,000 RUB (~1,150€) and two spots at the Final Battle of the Year up for grabs.

ASUS Spring Cup saw eSrael and ALTERNATE qualify for the final event to be held at the Kiev CyberSports ARENA in November. Russian Dockers have since then qualified in the non-pro qualifier in Moscow.

Registration is now open for ASUS Summer Cup and up to 512 teams can sign up to compete in the online tournament which kicks off on August 18, two days after the sign up period ends.

The field of teams will be cut down to just 32 with best-of-one single elimination matches in just four days, scheduled for August 18-21. Two group stages will then take place to find the final eight teams.

One final group stage will see two teams drop out, before a single elimination best-of-three bracket will determine the winners and final placings of the tournament.

ASUS Summer Cup prize distribution:

1. 20,000 RUB (~510€) + Final Battle of the Year spot
2. 12,000 RUB (~305€) + Final Battle of the Year spot
3. 8,000 RUB (~205€)
4. 5,000 RUB (~125€)

If you wish to take part in ASUS Summer Cup, you can head over to ASUSOpen.com to register for the tournament, which is completely free. Up to 512 teams will be accepted.

This is an "open public" cup, you can create the team, include some players there, and then register on tournament. Finally, you'll face with other different teams, it all depends on your skill and teamplay at all.

It all says for your "low money wtf?!"

I assure you that 100+ teams will sign up with 10 euro fee if top teams participate just because they want to meet them, just in Sweden we will have 20+ teams/mixes plus all the other countries, also if you include Balkans there will be alot of teams there

it's either 64, 128, 256, 512 or 1024 - 512 seems a lot more reasonable and realistic than double the number.

Yea cause it's impossible to have something in between 512 and 1024? Just WO to random in first round and it's fixed. Tada problem solved.

well i don't think they expect a turn out of more than 512 days, but i wouldn't put extending it to 1024 if more teams signed up beyond them.

like i said, 512 is a lot more reasonable and realistic (+ you can play four rounds in four days to cut down to 32); not impossible. "tada"

i don't understand what people are complaining about, it's an online qualifier for a main event that has more prizes (around $14k iirc).

obviously the qualification for the main event is the main price in this, not whatever amount of money you win. consider this one of those many 64 team pre-qualifiers for iem events, except this is free (requires no esl premium) and doesn't limit the number of teams to just the best applicants (asus spring cup had over 750 teams).

Then you will have a code for the joining to your team. Write this code to your friends. They should open your team`s page and they must click to "Join" and they must write team`s code into the field.
