HLTV.org has been given two slots for the 10,000€ DreamHack Bucharest tournament, set to be distributed through two online qualifiers.
As more information regarding October's DreamHack Bucharest event has been released, we are happy to announce that we will host two online qualifiers. The winner of each qualifier will earn a slot for the event.
To intercept any questions, it is a slot for the tournament, not including support for travel or accommodation. More details about the qualifiers will be announced next week.
As mentioned, two teams for the Bucharest event will be found via HLTV.org with four coming via a Romanian qualifier hosted by PGL and two teams will be found through another international online qualifier, while eight teams will be invited directly.
The event will have a 10,000€ prize purse, plus the winning team will qualify for DreamHack Winter, though no information has been released about CS tournament at DreamHack's winter event.
The ten thousand euros will be distributed to the top four placed teams, with the following breakdown:
1. 5,000€
2. 2,500€
3. 1,500€
4. 1,000€
DreamHack has opted to use the group stage format which was used at GameGune, a double-elimination bracket group stage, which you might remember from the article about improving tournament formats.
The group stage will feature four groups with four teams in each and top two will advance to the playoffs. Playoffs will be played best-of-one map in a double-elimination bracket.
DreamHack Bucharest will take place at Turbohalle, running October 20-21 in the Romanian capital. For more information about the event, how to get there and more, head on over to the event website found at dreamhack.ro.
