Valve publish CS:GO beta stats

Game: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's developing team has with today's release announced statistics from the beta phase of the game.

Shortly after the release of CS:GO the devs updated the official blog, in which it was stated that today marked an important milestone in the development of the game.

The devs had previously showed some of the data they collected in the beta phase, including heat maps and later compared collected data from the beta with the tournament hosted at Copenhagen Games.

With the beta phase over the devs present us with detailed statistics. We'll let the numbers speak for themselves.

CS:GO has been out since 19:00 and has already passed 50,000 concurrent players, with the current peak at 52,596.

the only relevant stat is number of players who participated. the other high numbers just create the wow-effect by attacking the first signal system of kids, or less common sense having individuals.

I think you would be surprised how many people will subconsciously relate these high numbers to a certain (high) degree of quality, or popularity. take #6, or #7 for instance. a good example of victims of marketing.

In reality these numbers are useless - they provide no useful information whatsoever. Just another ploy to try to get more people to play.

I am not debating how many total users there are, there are millions of pirated cracks of every major title, including 1.6. There's no point counting pirated copies. Keep in mind that even CSS and every game on that list (except tf2 and dota2) have 2x-3x more cracked no-steamers.

I am just saying that the peak of players currently is a lot higher than 2k.

Only usefull stats are to see which guns are bought the most and the outcome of rounds to see if T's and CT's are balanced or not.

Maybe stats about which maps are played the most nextime? :)
