Our 89th "Frags from the past" clip takes you back to WSVG 2006 Finals in New York where Salvatore "Volcano" Garozzo aces fnatic en route to a comeback win on de_train.
Round starts with Garozzo covering the inner bombsite's brown hall where he picks up two quick headshots on fnatic's entry killers Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg and the now long since retired Oscar "Archi" Torgersen.
After falling back into the site, he gets two more kills under flatbed train and on the top ramp. Finally after rotating closer to the top ramp ladder, he takes down Patrik "cArn" Sättermon to complete his ace. As a side note, Garozzo was the only one with a weapon which he saved from the previous round, while the rest of his team had only USPs.
By defeating the Swedes, 3D were up against Alternate aTTax in the final, where they lost 16-21 in overtime.
It was tbh, more epic than the one with ins at least, and almost as epic as the gtr/gux one. Carn back then was a huge fragger besides his IGLing, and tentpole was a beast, while forest especionally was way above the rest of the world, together with neo and maybe just roman, real and fnx coming close
Epic round. Remember watching this live. Even better knowing it was an eco round and he was the only one with a gun (from the previous round). Volcano owns.
Rambo n frod mine, but he was up there with moto, ksharpe and hanes/azn, though the latter both didnt really show it in topteams where they werent the star player
I think only Method was a better rifler in the US at the time. I just loved watching Team 3D as a whole to be honest with you and yes hanes was sick to watch too and aZn made good frag highlights :P I never really watched Ksharp playing at all except vs SK in 2005 and moto always seemed to let them down by "fluffing his lines" so to speak, but everyone says he was sick before I saw him (around same time period) I much preferred shaGuar to fRoD as a player and I used to compare coL with fnatic and 3D with SK :p thus I "hated" coL and fnatic players ever since lol.
Oh crap totally forgot mike, my bad he was no doubt top5 dag american for me :p with frod rambo top3 possibly, though kyle miller deserves that spot just as much
For me neo and f0rest are without any doubt the 2 best players of all time. With this beeing said, volcano is for me the most underrated player to ever play this game. He was easily top5 in the world but it feels like even tho he always beeing recognized as a great player, feels like he never had the hype about him that a player of his caliber should
How was he underated ? He was #1 in zEx/TSG/3D for years. You're just a biased idiot about past players you never saw live. Players like Dominator were underated :)
Ive been around since 2000 and i pretty much saw every single player live, even talked with some 3D players in dreamhack here in sweden so trust me, you are the idiot here talking that way ;). Besides, i was saying he was underated in a way of not beeing recognized as a top5 player in the world at least, not that he was not recognized as a beast. You sir, failed.
