ex-BEASTS switch to CS:GO

Slovakia's top CS 1.6 squad, which contains former CSS star Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács, decided to take the next step in their careers and switch to playing CS:GO.

With many teams around the world already announcing their switch to the recently released Counter Strike: Global Offensive, next in line are former BEASTS, Slovakia's top CS 1.6 team.

The team was last seen playing online in Inuria Championship Summer where they had mediocre success. They made it through the group stage, and then past the Spanish side DN-Gaming in the first round of playoffs, but were knocked out by Free Agents after three maps in the quarter-final.

Aside from a squad containing most of Slovakia's best players, the team also boasts having former Counter Strike: Source star Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács. In his period with Reason Gaming, Kovács won several international titles, including DreamHack Winter 2009, three times iSeries LANs, as well as a bronze medal with Slovakia's national team at ENC 2008.

In more recent times, he returned to CS 1.6 where his lethal AWP led Slovakia's national team to some notable results, especially a victory over Poland that brought them through the group stage at CB NationsCup XV.

As the team's captain, HLTV.org asked Kovács to give a short statement regarding the switch:

"I've talked to my teammates about our future as team. They did not want to quit the gaming scene, so we came up with a decision to switch to CS:GO. I am quite sure that with my experiences from CS:Source and CS 1.6 I can lead my team to the biggest international events in Europe and do some big damage at the top of the CS:GO scene. It will be an honor to represent some big organization and make a good name for them."

Having recently added Martin "styko" Styk, the team currently has six members on its roster, so Tomáš "benq1" Masaryk will act as a substitute.

when funding goes, and the organization BEASTS disappears/manager goes AWOL for the 1.6 and CSS team not much else you can do... seeing as a lot of things were promised to us then found out the org has closed down and it's being sold on - glad Guardian and co are moving to GO, same with us!

Guyz, some of you are mad or what? Before last updates it was really bad game imo, but after that, i wrote that this game is playable, but CS1,6 is more entertaining to watch etc(cause of movement skill for example). About promod my idea is still same, i like it more, cause it is CS game and CS:leGO is not CS game, its new FPS game. Its more like Source + COD, so for me its not CS, but new FPS game. I really love 1.6, but maybe its time to try something new, with high motivation etc. so we will see :). What i still really miss in this game is better movement and old good maps from 1.6.. with better movement game can be more fun imo :). if you are speaking about my comment, im not mad, i wish you best of luck for the future... but its not nice ''trowing with shit'' on a game and after switch to it and expect that all the persons welcome you.......i think that this game made some big steps and will be better day after day.

About promod: doesn't stand a chance without some big sponsors , organizations picking up it. even if its better than GO, but i don't see this at the moment.. same recoil and gameplay like in 1.6 with very very bad movement[ michael jackson style.. with speed]... in few words A BAD COPY OF 1.6.
