Game: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

The Electronic Sports World Cup has opened the application registration for the female CS:GO tournament.

Last week it was announced that ESWC would feature as side tournament in CS:GO for the females, just like the males will have one.

Today the ESWC announced the opening of the application registration, which is to select four French teams for the French national qualifier, as well as seven international teams for the main event in November.

Teams will be picked based on the achievements of the players and the team itself. Teams wanting to apply can do so by going here.

Selected teams will not have any registration fees, but will have to cover travel and accommodation on their own. The selection process is set to end on September 18.

Femalescenes are a joke in my opinion in every game. As far as I know the maintournament isn't restricted to males only, and I also don't see any advantage a man would have over a woman in esports.

Just have one big tournament instead of two smaller ones.

this.
2012-09-07 17:16:41
My freind there are alot of advantages a man can have over a woman in esports like skill, reaction time and most importantly use of brain
2012-09-07 17:19:44
These are things you practice to become good at tho, and a woman can practice as much as a man if she wants too.
2012-09-07 17:40:01
not true, a woman can be as good as men, but in 1.6 male have always been dominant because women gamers in general dont like games like 1.6
2012-09-07 17:44:07
so, just because the majority of one gender does not like 1.6 (which is an assumption), that gender deserves their own league? I heard frogs don't like 1.6, frogs should get a league/tournament.

:D! Just passing time before my next class haha
2012-09-07 19:05:07
well, actually that makes sense on sponsors point of view. a female pro scene sure will help to grow its scene as a whole

but then again, i think it's unnecessary

"most importantly use of brain"

women:first multi-processing thing in the world.
2012-09-07 17:33:38
finally someone with a brain
2012-09-07 17:36:17
fuckin +1

could rage everytime i see females earning thousands of euros at tourneys for delivering worse performances than even me as a fun gamer.

rather invest this money in the male scene or better merge the scenes. it's ok they have their own scenes in sports etc. but why in e-sports? what's men's advantage exactly? it doesn't make any sense.
2012-09-07 17:38:52
I don't know what you have been seen, but females gamers from big teams such as female fnatic have played fucking awesome and pretty sure 1000x better than you.
2012-09-08 08:53:37
sk gaming ladies (the team that won eswc female for like the last 5 years) are barely a decent team in NA 1.6, and NA 1.6 is much worse than euro. decent meaning 10-6 in intermediate
2012-09-08 10:08:26
so I surpassed them long time ago..
hmmm

Same reason why there isn't a mixed boxing tournaments or the sort.
2012-09-07 20:52:35
I'm pretty sure men have an advantage over women in boxing..
2012-09-07 21:58:18
So does over e-sports.
2012-09-08 08:51:02
I don't see why is something so trivial bothering you, let them have their fun too.
2012-09-08 08:54:12
It bothers me because it makes the "real scene" smaller?

imo i would rather see female teams getting invited into the main tournament based on skill, or atleast QUALIFY for it...

not get invited just cus they are female ...imo i dont even understand, if these girl teams wants respect, why don't they ever fight against male teams?

only female team i have respect for is SK, they went to gamegune against the guys and actually did well

all these female teams demanding respect, but not actually playing against males, they deserve nothing.

"Teams will be picked based on the achievements of the players and the team itself."

What a joke..

I presume ESWC should release more info on the event for any team to be able to consider if it is worth applying for an invitation or not (aside of saving the registration fee).

The point of female gaming tournaments is not because there is a difference in ability between the sexes. They exist to promote female gaming.
2012-09-08 00:13:55
The only team who would actually do good in this tournament would be UBNITED the american female team with beNITA, potter, ali, jayso and so on.
Now that half of them retired, there will be no more exciting matches to watch.
Like #3 said Femalescenes are a joke now that this game is almost dead.

I have seen missharvey showing quite some interest in this if I remember correctly. I presume she will be able to find some lads that share her enthusiasm.
Also, this ESWC is about CS:GO not CS 1.6 .
2012-09-08 01:16:51
Yeah but shes the only one that has been playing lately. And jayso too but only sometimes. The other girls are not playing anymore.

And yeah especially because it's CS:GO they would never play.. pretty sure they hate it
2012-09-08 04:11:26
jso is the best already, she doesnt need to train ^.^
2012-09-10 01:24:51
will be tournament with only 2 teams xD
2012-09-08 08:26:50
Can Australian women compete in this also?
