€10,000 for CS:GO at SLAP LIVE #26

Game: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

The organizers behind SLAP LIVE have annnounced a €10,000 prize purse for the event's Global Offensive tournament.

SLAP LIVE #26 will take place during the Gadgets & Games event at the Fredericia Exhibition Centre, located in the eastern part of Jutland, Denmark, between November 1-4.

The organizers have decided to go with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as the upcoming event's main game title, setting aside a nifty sum of €10,000 and hardware for the tournament.

Furthermore, Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike: Source will also be included for the event, but it looks as though these tournaments will be dependant on sign-ups.

Teams wishing to compete in the Global Offensive tournament are required to pay a sign-up fee of €60. The fee will increase slightly, to €68, for payments made after the October 19 deadline.

The sign-up fees for Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike: Source have both been set to €40, with the fee increasing to €47 for payments after the above-mentioned deadline.

Unfortunately, the event will fall on the same dates as the Electronic Sports World Cup 2012, which will be held during the Paris Games Week.

SLAP LIVE #26's exact prize distribution is yet to be revealed. For additional information about the event and how to sign up, see the event's official website.

would be cool if it would be for 1.6

he can't comment a cs:go only because is supporting 1.6?
2012-09-09 16:47:18
yes he can, but since it happens in every single post which talks about cs:go and its great tournaments, it's being boring and reaching the stupidness.

You're probably not going to believe me, since the general impression seems to be that we do what you say, but here's the real and honest truth.

We only delete comments that are stupid, off-topic and generally retarded. An example is someone posting "fuck CS:GO" in a news post concerning something CS:GO-related. Stuff like that doesn't belong there. We delete a lot of these, and as a result a lot of people ask "why did you delete my comment??" even though it's painfully clear why we did.

If you wanna criticize or praise CS:GO, go ahead. We welcome discussion, but make sure it's done properly, ie not the usual "fuck CS:GO" etc., and in the appropriate settings, such as threads.

It's not like we have an agenda, although a lot of people like to think so.
2012-09-09 17:54:32
I think it's painfully clear that that's not the "real and honest" truth, hehehe...

2012-09-09 17:58:26
I don't think so, but if it depended on me, you could delete hltv.org from your favorites.

Dont have a 1.6 or a source event have a csgo event with all the money going to the csgo event.
2012-09-09 16:00:16
Nice!
2012-09-09 16:05:49
cs go is getting bigger...good valve need to improve the game not just the fcking prize moneyy..!!
2012-09-09 16:26:35
Sad but true...

Now we have to start taking CSGO a bit more seriously...

Wonder how long it will last though.
2012-09-09 16:26:37
Every game company give some huge money for advertising from the start of some game... but this money are not endless and when they see they will not gona back them... guess what... the game will be dead :)
2012-09-09 17:32:25
Mmh, actually there hasnt been that many companies interested in CSGO until like this week.

The number of players are dropping the whole time, but i think these "bigger tournaments" will make a lot of players come back :/ Sad but true..
2012-09-09 17:42:44
Every sport (in this case competitive game) need's not only players & teams ... but mostly viewers & fans to watch it , so it can "live" :) I can't predict if CS:Go is going to live or die , but i have my doubts, that it will be even close to what kind of impact cs 1.6 do :)

Go CSGO!
2012-09-09 16:36:22
would be cool if they stopped overlapping events ....
2012-09-09 17:05:36
It's at the same time as the ESWC 2012 , so there won't gonna be big CSGO teams to play it , so they should make a 10.000euros event for 1.6 instead
2012-09-09 17:05:42
Are they putting money in these tournaments because the game is popular OR because they are trying to make it popular?

Or because they realise that for tactical team based FPS' to have a future in esports we have to invest in CS:GO?

:O ''The organizers behind SLAP LIVE have annnounced...'' ... to many 'n' for a single word xD
2012-09-09 18:06:03
lol.. i have to admit i'm really excited and can't wait for the big tournaments of CS:GO, it's getting really big, with amazing teams. when someone argue with me that i should continue playing my 1.6 because it will only die in the competitive scene, i just can't understand, because the good thing in counter-strike is not only to play it, it's about emotion to cheer for a team that you like, and if i'm going to have it in CS:GO, i will switch, and don't care if only 1% of 1.6 players do it, i want to feel the same i used to feel when watch my favourite teams. i will have to accustom with the maps and the gameplay, but i want to have fun, and i'm not having in cs 1.6 anymore. watch the pros gives me a really big motivation to play and own all in pugs, mixes, whatever
2012-09-09 18:24:54

10k euros lost in a shitty game, the event should save this money and invest in other game (like sc2 or dota2), CSGO will return shit
2012-09-09 18:30:43
globalofensive, source and counterstrike all tree games :) At least 1 person is happy, i hope there will be some teams and good matches.
2012-09-09 18:51:24
Why go and not 1.6? still many 1.6 teams to play.
2012-09-09 22:08:41
CS:GO - Bigger sponsor interest.
2012-09-10 19:30:24
