North American ESWC qualifier winners Area51 have undergone a roster change which saw Josh "PineKone" Springer get removed with Trey "tck" Martin joining in his place.
Area51 proved the concept of mixing players from both Counter-Strike 1.6 and Source backgrounds by succeeding at PAX Prime two weeks ago in Seattle where they defeated Dynamic 2-0 in the grand final.
Shortly after becoming the number one team on the continent, they have chosen to remove Springer to make room for Martin, who joins from former CS:S team Murder Inc, who were also in attendance at ESWC North American qualification.

Asked about reasons for this change, Kory "semphis" Friesen said they didn't feel like Springer was meshing well with the team and as they are planning to make the squad work long term to be sure they could field the same roster at all of the upcoming events they plan on attending.
Martin has already debuted with the Area51 roster in ESEA Invite's current twelveth season, where the team is currently tied for first place with a 8-1 record, as he helped the team defeat Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert's Team4NOT GO 16-10 on de_nuke_ve.

Area51 will be in attendance at ESWC 2012 on November 1-4 in Paris, France. They are also hoping to attend DreamHack Winter 2012 later in the same month in Sweden, while continuing to participate in ESEA Invite and other possible North American events.
