A 9,000€ CS:GO tournament will take place at NorthCon, a German LAN party, on December 14-15. A total of 16 teams will be able to participate and the winner will take home 5,000€.
NorthCon eSport Arena announced a prize purse of 20,000€ for its League of Legends and Counter Strike: Global Offensive tournaments. The FPS game will see a slightly smaller share of that prize money, giving out 9,000€ to its top four finishers.
The tournament will take place at NorthCon, a big computer and eSport festival in Neumünster, a town in the north of Germany.
According to the event's website, it is planned to have 16 teams for CS:GO, most of which will be invited based on their applications. Teams can apply for an invite until November 1, for more information on how to do that click here.
Some of the slots are also reserved for direct qualifications. Only the BYOC qualifier at the NorthCon LAN party is known to offer one spot for the main tournament so far, but it is stressed that another way of qualifying will be revealed next week.
