A new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team called Cold as Ice has been created with several familiar faces to the Swedish 1.6 scene.

CAI were a regular presence at LAN events in Sweden back in 2008, and after some period away from the spotlight, the team has now made its return with a new roster based in Örebro.

Former ICSU duo Mikail "eksem" Bill and Mahyar "Noodles" Samadi are the most prominent names on the team, which also features Stefan "nibble" Wård and Filip "lurkz" Åkerstrand - two players who frequently donned CAI's colours in the past.

"Everything began when I played a lot of CS:GO gathers with lurkz like 1 month ago," Bill told HLTV.org. "We played a whole lot of gathers with each other and we enjoyed to play together.

"Then the night before I was supposed to move from my city to another one I asked him where he was living and he told me that he lives in the city I was moving to.

"So we asked three other guys from the same city if they wanted to play CS:GO in a team and everybody was positive about it and we began to play."

Other Swedish and European teams have been practicing for several weeks now, but Bill thinks that his team can make their mark in the scene, starting with DreamHack Winter.

"We are aiming to be one of the best team out there," he said. "We have a big advantage because we all live in the same city and it gets easier to bootcamp and do stuff together to increase our morale.

"We have talked about going to Dreamhack Winter and let the future tell us which other events we will attend.

"An organisation will make everything easier for us to attend different LAN tournaments, etc."
