Asia E-Sports Cup this weekend

Asia E-Sports Cup is set to kick off tomorrow on Friday at 06:05 with NSD facing Hybrid. Asking Questions will take on myRevenge.jp at 08:20.

AEC is taking place at Tokyo Game Show in the Japanese capital with four teams having qualified in their respective countries for the $16,500 tournament taking place on September 21-23.

The tournament will be played out in a double elimination best-of-three format which sees the first seeded Hybrid take on the last seeded Indian NSD Gaming in the opening round.

Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen's Singaporean ?? will face local Japanese former UNiTED team, now known as myRevenge.jp, a couple of hours later in the other upper bracket semi-final.

Both the upper bracket final and the first round of lower bracket will be played on Friday, with consolidation final left for Saturday and only the grand final scheduled to take place on Sunday, as seen in the schedule below:

Each team will eliminate two maps in every match up, leaving them with the three maps to be played. The top three placing teams will be awarded cash prizes, as seen below:

Prize distribution:

1. 800,000¥ (~$10,230
2. 320,000¥ (~$4,100)
3. 130,000¥ (~$1,660)

Every match will feature public HLTV and a Japanese stream. We will be adding hot matches for each game here on HLTV.org and will process statistics as soon as we receive demos from the event.
