Config issues delay matches

Game: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

It really would not be an eSports tournament if everything started on time. The first day of DreamHack Valencia has been plagued by several delays, with the first match due to start no sooner than  19:00.

As soon as the first teams arrived at the tournament stage, issues began to surface: the computers had on board graphic cards, which the players complained about as they offer low performances when it comes to 3D applications.

It was expected that everything would be solved when the organisers installed graphic cards on the computers, but then x6tence and bemyfRAG complained that the monitors they were using were much worse than those assigned to NiP and 34united, which left them at a disadvantage.

Teams are still waiting to play their first matches

As a result, both Spanish teams unplugged their devices, which means that the order of the matches has been switched and NiP will face 34united in the next few minutes.

Then, x6tence should take on bemyfRAG, after which the remainder of Group A should be played out as initially scheduled.

*UPDATE* The massive delay continues in Valencia, as the Spanish teams have raised questions about the configs used by NiP's players. The admins are still discussing what to do, as they are not familiar with the commands used in CS:GO, and there is still no estimation about when the matches will kick off.

20:53 *UPDATE 2* All issues were finally resolved, matches are about to go live.

lol

lol GJ hltv.org 5 hours later you post the news when it is obvious :D
2012-09-21 19:13:51
They needed to know why and also needed to know when, if at all, the games are on. We all knew they had issues but knowing what the case actually is is good info.
2012-09-21 19:20:24
was expected
2012-09-21 19:08:41

2012-09-21 19:08:51

2012-09-21 19:45:23

On board graphic cards... LOL :D
2012-09-21 19:41:08
All Spanish events seem to be very awful when it comes to hosting a event. I mean, why in gods name do the PCs only have onboard graphics? The hole event seems to be extremely unprofessional and on top of that, DreamHacks reputation will be slighty scratched.
2012-09-21 19:41:26
+1
2012-09-21 19:47:06
Well GameGune doing pretty well.
2012-09-21 19:47:41
As far as i remember they had also a lot of delay this summer, like broken PCs. And their PCs weren't neither good to even provide solid performance in CS 1.6.
2012-09-21 19:58:05
Every tournament have delays. Tell me one which didnt, if possible, of course.
2012-09-21 20:43:21
Its not really about that. Of course there are nearly no tournaments without any dealay. We all got used to delays up to half an hour or even one hour. But then a point is reached where it gets fucking annoying for the viewers.
2012-09-21 20:50:11
True but it's fine, first CS:GO tournament. Lets give them a discount! <3
2012-09-21 22:32:32
This is getting really boring !
2012-09-21 19:47:06
1 thing: why they don`t test PC 1-2 days before?
so easy to do and so unprofessional from them ...
2012-09-21 19:49:25
no surprise . Welcome CS:GO :D

uhmmmm its 20.00 now and the games were supposed to start 16:00.

Its actually quite fun - I predicted 5 hours delay in the comments somewhere :D

Wouldn't be a real CS event without the delays!
2012-09-21 20:04:46
Yes... But the reason to the delays... Is just .........................
2012-09-21 20:06:15
Cs event? where?
2012-09-21 20:21:26
i see what u did there..:OO
2012-09-21 20:29:10
it's fuckin true...
2012-09-21 20:31:06
The irony being that DH usually has very little, at least when hosted in Sweden. Also, bringin in some fucking 486's for a GO tournament is not an excuse, it's a total failure. And to add to that, having some teams with better gear than others, it's no more a failure, it's Spain.
2012-09-21 20:29:51
gl later hope its fixed in case anybody still care to watch, i rather go drink with my friends, if it was 1.6 i would stay home waiting like a kid for the matches, csgo dont attract me it seems :/
2012-09-21 19:58:36
+1 except im not going to drink with my friends
2012-09-21 20:01:07

great global offensive tournament <3
2012-09-21 20:26:05
wOw what interest in csgo, from same ppl who "hate" csgo!!! :)
2012-09-21 20:26:08
59 replies so far for a DH event, can't call that a tidal wave. And of course we love this, the 1st GO LAN fail so miserably, this is nothing but gassing the fire :D
2012-09-21 20:32:16
you are happy when something fails? get a life, hater
2012-09-21 20:47:04
Of course not? Happy too Spain and GO fail as predicted. If this (both event and matches) turn out great, I'm ready to admit me being wrong
2012-09-21 20:58:07
I cant belive there has been like 4k people on this stream which has been delayed for like 4 hours mlol
2012-09-21 20:32:04
Yeah almost the same you sAucers got on your biggest matches ever. And the viewers increased a lot after the NiP game was scheduled next. Wonder why..
2012-09-21 20:34:34
"but then x6tence and bemyfRAG complained that the monitors they were using were much worse than those which were assigned to NiP and 34united, which left them at a disadvantage."

after this they will complain about the seats

i could cry

omg all the teams will be crushed by NiP, what the f*ck are they complaining about

NiP would beat them without monitors
2012-09-21 20:39:57
ofc NiP is better tan them, but they have payed like them and the have to play in the same conditions, u know...

2012-09-21 20:39:59
So they are admins for a game they dont know it? Great!
2012-09-21 20:40:04
"as the Spanish teams have raised questions about the configs used by NiP's players"

Like they would have any chance anyway? Ridiculous.
2012-09-21 20:41:03
It is a new game..they might have a valid point. Chance or no chance...unfair configs shouldn't be allowed.
2012-09-21 20:45:12
And what is unfair what comes to the configs? If there's no rules against them what's the issue here?

2012-09-21 20:46:04
well it's true that if you were to host cs 1.6 tournament you only need the best flat screens and the rest hardware can be quite old and still you get 100fps while in cs:go you really need very good pc

now power down in the arena ....cant get any better than this for the first big lan of csgo :)
2012-09-21 21:23:52
I think the event is on par with the quality of the game they are playing. I dont wish anyone bad luck, but this really fit well with a csgo lan.
2012-09-21 21:34:47
this isnt just a csgo lan, .... there are about 6 separate games being played

poor starcraft players
2012-09-21 21:39:25

2012-09-21 21:49:51
What do you mean only in India? Dude, don't talk when you don't know even 1% of shit that happened there. Power went out in IGC cuz there cheque to premises owner got bounced. Infact every single cheque they gave were bounced. I don't even know why people like you even exist in this world. Jeez.

I gave an explanation afterwards but you didn't saw that, did you? By that i mean such incidents can happen everywhere, organizers/players can face problems in every tourny but there's no need to bash someone's country for such incidents. NOone do such things intentionally. And we all know what happened in UK's last 1.6 tournament so don't get me started over that and lets end this right here.

/bye
2012-09-21 22:08:24
Wait what? I didnt bash anyones country until u started acting like a retard , if you read my post all I said was I have only seen the power go out once at lan which was igc which was in india , nothing I said was incorrect and offensive.. it was all true.

I dont care why it happened or when or whos fault it was.
2012-09-21 22:13:34
So what were the actual commands that NiP were using in their cfgs? Anyone?
