Lions add CS:GO team

Lions have announced that they have jumped on the CS:Global Offensive bandwagon with a Swedish-based team.

This new team consists of five former 1.6 players, some of whom are relatively known in the Swedish scene for attending a number of LAN events with different mix teams.

Lamar "niwen" Mahmuzić and Daniel "barsiC" Fanous were recently in action at SteelSeries GO with Lemondogs, helping the team to finish third in the tournament.

Marcus "windster" Andersson, Eddie "zape" Härdeman and Andre "relik" Larsson make up the rest of the team, who will be in attendance at DreamHack Winter.

"We got in touch with Lions some weeks ago, we talked a lot and got interested in joining them," Mahmuzić told HLTV.org.

"Lions are a really big organisation, and it means a lot to our careers to be playing for them.

"We will do everything to make them happy to have us as their team."

The Swedish team participated in the Go for SteelSeries online tournament last week under the name surast@cb, crashing out in the Round of 16 following a 2-1 defeat against ROCKSTAR.

I hate replying but I want people to see this. Guys cs has been around over a decade. New players come and go. Let's not be quick to jump and say "never heard of these guys." one thing that killed 1.6 is the lack of fresh blood coming into the scene. I mean who did 2012 see? Colon and co? If that? Let's at Least the fresh blood a chance. There's a lot of teams (especially in Sweden) with the potential to practice at the professional level. It is a new game.

Erm... none of these names are familiar. I was hoping that somehow, Lions had gotten the old Lemondogs line-up back together for a CS:GO team (which would be somewhat of a miracle). Oh, well; still nice to see a Lions team back on the CS scene!
