He then proceeds to help his team retake the site with another AWP headshot onto Andreas "KK" Andreassen and finishes his streak with an USP kill.

Best Canadian player to touch CS, he's very successful in Poker now.

arguments could be made for steel and stevenson. Probably most successful.
2012-10-03 05:18:08
No, shaG by far. Remember when he was on 3D and played for EG on WCG a couple times, he carried them like no one ever carried a team. Look what he did on NoA, and he still one of the best snipers ever. It's hard to compare other canadians to him, he was on a much higher level, and Stevenson is the 2nd best canuck imho.
2012-10-03 05:35:29
Shag is by far the best and most successful player ever to come from canada and yes stevenson would be 2nd imo
2012-10-03 07:37:12
stevenson was insanely good aswell man, always carrying EG (and co carrying with shag if you remember that WCG you mentioned). I'd have loved to have seen him go international like shaG did in NoA :(
imo stevenson was just as good potentially
2012-10-03 20:13:22
bl00dsh0t was good but shaguar took it to world champion level....not really any comparison tbqh :/

question was who was the most skilled. Stevenson is certainly comparable to shaguar in skill. Also, if you want to go for accomplishments 3D steel won wcg with LnD I believe.

Either way, all great players :)
2012-10-03 22:59:58
too right! thanks for having my back ;D
2012-10-04 00:09:56
you don't think that oftentimes stevenson displayed world champion level CS?
maybe by chance I saw the best 10-15 matches of his career but he was always a mile above the rest, and when shaG played with them he was carrying just as much as Griff.
there is no doubt in my mind that if there were 5 stevensons in EG they would have gotten at least one international trophy.
or maybe 4 + a good sniper. but like I said, I hardly saw all of his matches, maybe it was exactly the ones I saw when he chose to accelerate his play :P

lol anyone remember that cheesy news story that ShaGaurs father made? I remember him calling LAN centers, "opium dens"
2012-10-03 05:13:18
link?
2012-10-03 07:47:12
yes this is the link to the documentary that CTV made on shaGuar back when he was a young boy. a large focus is on how his father absolutely despised the game of cs.

So idiotic video that shaguar's father made --'

Well honestly the whole act of violence because of video games seems to depend on the person and not the game itself, it doesn't surprise me if some minds are fragile enough to get influenced by games, I've heard of a person knifing someone @ a CS LAN cafe. Though I wouldn't blame it on the game because I've been playing games for about 10 years (since I was 12) and I don't even have the urge or even the ability to kill someone and I've played way worse games than CS.

A lot has changed though, other than the fight against GTA there hasn't been a lot of issues in recent years that I've heard of, and games are still blooming more and more every year.
2012-10-03 14:19:32
ofcourse, violent games have been played by so many millions of people there's bound to be some psycho's between them. ah well, 20 years ago they thought listening to metallica made people go crazy and go on a killing spree. I'm sure 20 years from now everybody will laugh at the idea of games being the main influence in people killing other people or themselves.
2012-10-03 20:16:33
Haha yeah, I also remember an EG documentary where they play basketball and shit, anyone got it?
2012-10-03 12:03:03
THE wallbang
2012-10-03 05:27:13
that would be snajdans deagle :P or sunmans shot heard around the world ;] although this one and later plastE's double wallbang on train were awesome aswell
oh and dsn vs mTw on inferno (from big pit/zone to windowed house)
2012-10-03 20:17:54

I know this one does not seem so impressive maybe but think about the situation

CPL winter 2002, critical round, in the finals. it was a dificult match for both sides but zex was down by a few, and this gun vs gunround ended up sunman and damien in a 1v1... thousands of peope holding their breath. that's when Justin, seemingly at the last chance as the 4th or something acceleration on the bomb kicks in, takes a chance randoms Damien through 2 walls.

2012-10-03 09:39:43
shaGGy, how I miss you and good old days...

Black panther, Stevenson, Bullseye, moto and many, many more... Days when I loved NA CS :)

And no swag, n0thing or anybody of new schools will replace im my memory shaGuar and Method. Eh...
2012-10-03 10:00:37
yeah I guess we are so nostalgic because even though todays players are awesome aswell, they were the first to show us an insane level of CS.
NoA was the first ever team I saw play CS live, and there will never be a team close to them in my mind, even though they only stuck together for abit and dominated for just a year (probably less even)
2012-10-03 20:19:37
Agreed with the level of CS and new great names.

But this guys are in our hearts forever, for all feelings and emotions that they gave us in epic world wide CS battles 2003-2006 :D
2012-10-03 21:25:18
exactly, its much like everything else in life, when it is new and "fresh" it makes so much more of an impact than when you have seen or done something a trillion times.
its like that with scoring the winner on the soccer pitch, playing a game, watching a professional match in a game, having sex, bungeejumping, etc. etc. :P
still I enjoy watching guys like trace and karrigan rip it up, imagine my delight when I saw them team up earlier this year :) too bad it is just during the end of 1.6's era ;[[[[
2012-10-04 00:12:27
Oh, man, that's all like mine FIRST KISS. I remember it :DDD

Yeah, it's end of 1.6 era. But like many historians said and says: "The end is a new begging!" I believe in the bright future, mate :D
2012-10-04 10:26:50
yeah seems like CSGO already sparked alot of interest from org's/sponsors/tourneys, and combining fans/players from 2 scenes Im sure it can be a succesfull E-sports game :)
hope some tournaments will have me as caster on site!
2012-10-04 21:09:58
Good luck with that, Rene!) Im sure, you will have a chance
2012-10-04 22:00:13
