The organisers behind the Swedish Championship, known as Esport SM in Sweden, have announced that the upcoming season will hand out over €23,000 in the CS:GO tournament.
The 2012-13 season of the Swedish Championship will, as usual, kick off in October and finish with the LAN finals at DreamHack Summer in June.
CS:GO, Starcraft II, Fifa 13 and Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition will be the four games in display, with the FPS title alone claiming almost half of the season's €52,700 prize purse.
The way the prizes will be distributed has not yet been announced by the tournament organisation, who have also confirmed changes to the qualifying system.
In CS:GO, instead of the teams qualifying online, there will be a total of eight LAN events taking place across Sweden, each one qualifying one team for the LAN finals.
The list with the qualifiers looks as follows:
#1 - Stockholm - October 23
#2 - Jönköping - November 22
#3 - Umeå - January 26
#4 - Stockholm - February 23
#5 - Malmö - March 23
#6 - Gothenburg - April 20
#7 - Norrköping - May 25
#8 and season finals - Jönköping - June 15-17
Teams can sign up for these qualifiers by going to the official Swedish Championship website.
