Game: All

ESEA has announced their season 12 finals, which will take place November 16-18 in Dallas, TX and offer $17,100 in CS 1.6 and $19,600 in Counter-Strike:Global Offensive.

Traditionally held in a double elimination best-of-three format, this season's finals have been switched to single elimination to accommodate players such as Braxton "swag" Pierce who will be competing in two different CS titles.

For Counter-Strike 1.6 the teams who qualified for finals are sapphirekelownadotcom, Amazing Online, High Rollers Gaming, A Group Of Good Friends, ttb and Ultimax Gaming.

ESEA Invite Season 12 CS 1.6 prize distribution:

1. $7,500
2. $4,000
3. $2,000
4. $1,400
5-6. $1,100
5-6. $1,100

In CS:GO's first Invite season in ESEA, hold mouse one and Area51 have been in a class of their own while We are GO Players, Team Dynamic, Dont Trust Anyone and Team 4Not have also made it to the finals.

n0thing's Team 4Not's future is in ESEA's hands for season 12

It is however not clear if Team 4Not will be able to attend the finals as they are currently down to four players with no roster additions left. If not, first in line to take their spot is FrostGaming.

ESEA Invite Season 12 CS:GO prize distribution

1. $10,000
2. $4,000
3. $2,000
4. $1,400
5-6. $1,100

HLTV.org will naturally provide you with coverage from ESEA Invite Season 12 finals. While it is unknown if CS:GO will have a spectator client by then, ESEA promises every match will be streamed from the finals.

A51 to win it

2012-10-06 00:18:46
1.6 is dead.
2012-10-06 00:25:25
... And why exactly are you writing this to me?

2012-10-08 11:46:15
This is gonna be sick! Nice that CS:GO gets more money then 1.6! Keep CS:GO grow!
2012-10-06 00:23:54
Why is it "nice" that CS:GO has more prize money then 1.6? Yeah those 2.5k euro are probably gonna get CS:GO into IEM and EVERY tournement are gonna quit RTS and MOBA and get in CS:GO! VERY nice.

OH BOY AM I GONNA SLEEP GOOD TONIGHT
2012-10-06 00:30:27
Why exactly are you writing this to him?
2012-10-06 00:36:55
well he's jealous that CS:GO gets more money... I imagine.

I'm sure we will all sleep well tonight in that knowledge.
2012-10-06 00:39:43
No he's not he is just like me a 1.6 fan who hates that they are forcing csgo into the esports scene !

no one is forcing it though.
2012-10-06 00:45:36
Exept for the fact that no is is forcing it on you or any one else.
2012-10-06 00:48:33
Holy shit, why is it that every time you make a comment sucking off CS:GO your friend Gumpster jumps in? It's pretty hilarious and sad at the same time.
2012-10-06 10:16:07
smelling multiaccount ? xD
2012-10-06 11:50:37
You actual what? Considering it was a reply to me and I commented on it first?
2012-10-06 14:28:29
Doesn't make a difference who posted first, my point is that you guys just can't get enough of each other. Look through your comment history and I'm sure even you'll find the levels of bum-licking between the two of you to be astounding.
2012-10-06 22:53:20
Exactly like the other guys said, no one is forcing CS:GO to the esport scene. If you didnt notice it already, almost every pro team from CS 1.6 and CSS changed to CS:GO. Atleast alot of them. Soon everyone have changed.

CS:GO is the future of FPS esport. Probably the only future it will have in awhile.
2012-10-06 00:57:29
It's not like they are pointing a gun at everyonne so that they play CS:GO, but in a way it is if you have no choice. Saying the pro teams changed doesn't mean anything, because they go where the money is, so by giving big prize money for CS:GO you are, in some way, forcing them to play it.
There is a type of player between the casual and the pros that is being forced to. Let's call it the semi-pro. The semi-pro is the one who likes to follow the scene, enjoys watching matches, likes attending tournaments to spectate or even play if he/she has the chance, probably has a team and puts some hours a week to get better. The thing is, some semi-pros have changed because they know (at least at the moment) cs 1.6 is dead or very close to it. These guys are being somehow forced to play the game. It's the same as the pros, they play it because they don't have the other option. If 1.6 and CS:GO were both with big prizes then you would have a choice, like when CSS went big with the CGS.

Everyone says it's simply their choice, but it's not an easy choice because of what I've mentioned. The community functions as a whole, if a part is affected then it would probably affect the other parts, like some sort of snowball effect. We all depend to some degree to the community, for some people playing CS:GO exceeds the limit to which they are willing to go, but for others it will perhaps be CS:GO-2 or whatever it is called and so on.
2012-10-06 04:08:17
Well actually you have very much right in what you say!

But also, they are doing this because CS 1.6 was going down, and we all knew it was going to die soon.

Also alot of the pro players dont really hate CS:GO. They actually like that it is a new game and new things to learn. Like everyone is on the same level in the beginning, (more or less). So its a good start for everyone that wants to be pro.

But most pros like CS:GO. I dont say they dont like 1.6, because I know they love that game. But CS:GO is kinda the future if we want any in CS. So I will support CS:GO because I love the game and its the only way a CS or FPS game is going to be big in Esport again!

The thing is it came as a shock that CS 1.6 was no longer a title in every big tournament there is. I'm not saying Valve had something to do with this, but it was really weird how 2011 had a lot of tournaments (ESC and SK won $104,030 and $76,823 according to http://www.sk-gaming.com/content/36079-Polish_powe.. and then CS:GO is announced and we get to 2012 were simply 1.6 died pretty fast. I know it lasted a lot of years and this was bound to happen, but I think the time it took was way shorter than everyone expected. It felt as if 1.6 went down because of CS:GO being released.

Regarding people liking CS:GO or not, I think some people liked so much 1.6 and weren't expecting this to happen that when CS:GO came out they wanted at least something that could replace 1.6, which was not the case (in terms of getting the same feeling). I have played it and I enjoy it, dislike some things and obviously think it's pretty different from 1.6. Does that make it bad? Well considering the timing it got ('replacing 1.6') it's likely it will come as bad to some part (I do not think this is true but it maybe because I'm done playing the game like a semi-pro). About the pros, well I don't know them and couldn't say, if you know them and they have told you ok. But keep in mind that they not saying they don't like it doesn't mean they in fact like it.
2012-10-06 18:10:39
Come on a half of them are playing it because sponsors offer more money for csgo, there goes my statement. Also a lot of players said that the game is not playable yet, so :)
My opinion is that they are forcing the game onto the esports scene, which throws out the legendary 1.6.
I have nothing against csgo only i think 1.6 is better :) and if csgo is the future i will play it :) greetings my man ..
2012-10-06 16:19:06
jealous?

i have a life
2012-10-06 11:01:06
Yes that's why you post so much hatred of CSGO every news post and every thread about CSGO?

2012-10-06 04:45:47

2012-10-06 10:08:33
ESEA is letting the community choose the games not valve :)
2012-10-07 16:52:35

I cant wait for the 1.6 finals :)
2012-10-06 11:06:19
they better get Jimmy Wisenhunt to cast it then, because he is the best active american caster atm (sorry Dunn you used to be amazing, but I feel you've lost your passion for CS/games :P)
2012-10-06 11:53:50
oh and take it from me swag. better just focus on 1 of the games.
by the time you reach the semi finals in both tourneys you've lost so much of your energy you can't perform on toplevel anymore
ended up 4rd in 1.6 and 3rd in source on a tourney in 2006 when we should have gotten top3 at the very least in 1.6

edit: just 6 teams in each tourney after the prequalifiers, never mind what I said, that is very doable in bo1

i'm sure he really values the opinion of a guy from around the world who has never attended a single tournament, let alone two at a time
2012-10-06 13:41:51
Hey i ripped SK a new one singlehandedly in 2007 (the one with tentpole spawn Allen walle robban, and on lan) long after my active playing career, but I get that the dutch gaming scene is so small and meaningless that no one pays attention to what happens over here

well u arent the center of my world so whatever, I had an enjoyable time playing cs at that time and the gotfrag community was fun too, the american scene was pretty strong and my job hours meant I could follow CEVO at 3am. Dont try to suggest which days were good and which werent, thanks.

2007-2010 had more tournaments, better coverage, better teams/players and a higher level of competition, hence "better days" than the era before then. 2011 also trumps years up until 2007, but was a weaker year overall then the previous four years i'd say. i don't suggest, i base my opinions on facts, not how i felt about it personally.
2012-10-08 06:58:07
the fact is that its my bloody opinion and u cant change it.
