CS:GO TV to be released soon?

Game: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Valve has dropped yet another hint that CS:GO TV will be ready for release ahead of the ESWC finals in just two weeks' time.

As we approach the first major international competitions in CS:GO, the ESWC and DreamHack Winter, several important figures in the scene have urged Valve to put together a spectator client, called CS:GO TV, for the community to watch their favourite matches.

The only way to follow a match right now is through live streaming, which has certainly become an important part of the esports experience, but the introduction of CS:GO TV, a more user-friendly option, is widely regarded as a much-needed change for the game to thrive.

Earlier in the month, former VeryGames captain Loic "RegnaM" Pero revealed that he was working together with Valve on getting a spectator client ready in time for the ESWC, and a picture showing a GO TV server has now made its way onto vakarm.net.

There is still no info about the characteristics of CS:GO TV, but many hope that it will follow in the footsteps of Dota 2's standalone client, which was released just two months ago, and allow it, for example, to work together with streaming platforms.

They should update the game itself first.

once every 2-3 months with no GAMEPLAY updates?

I think he's not the dumbass here. Changes are needed for CSGO to rise, deal with it.

Once in 2 weeks actually.
2012-10-20 04:56:42
Weekly actually
2012-10-20 13:32:39
Last update was released 9 days ago, isn't it?
2012-10-20 13:39:17
the game was officially released 2-3 months ago.. sorry they haven't updated it daily.
2012-10-20 06:42:46
they have made huge changes to the gameplay.
2012-10-20 14:02:33
No matter what change will be made, people wont move. Simple. Valve knows that, so opinion of most users on hltv.org are ignored. CSGO created them own community already. And those guys enjoy the game play as it is. Deal with, you can ethier join them or stay with 1.6. Quit whining.
2012-10-22 12:07:10
less than 15K? hah
2012-10-22 13:17:01
It is 15k and it is enough. If you comparing it to pub players from 1.6 then im sorry good bye, there is nothing to talk about.
2012-10-22 16:22:09
lol, nothing funnier than people that think csgo has 15K "competitive players", csgo is nothing compared to 1.6, LoL, SC2, WoW and others.

csgo only has 15k people playing at all times, not 15k competitive players.

So? 1.6 is dead. So it can join CSGO in "nothing" group.
And how many teams do play 1.6 competitively? Or even professionally? Hmmmm, not even one?

Still didnt answer my question. 1.6 is dead u mad bro UMAD?
2012-10-22 17:25:22
Alot of 1.6 players moved over to GO. Fact. Almost every professional organisation has a GO team.
2012-10-22 17:48:23
tru that but it is not like our polish friend is saying. nothing is absolute.

Well yes it is true. 1.6 players who were wiling to move on, already done it. You only got whining kids, hardcore 1.6 lovers, and people with shit PC left playing that game. This is why im saying that anyone who is commenting, oh they need to improve that and this, wont move no matter what anyway. Thats my point.

I really hope they dont bring out a half assed update like matchmaking though, If it is rushed I would rather it not come out until its finished.
2012-10-20 01:37:23
like matchmaking? Explain yourself
2012-10-20 01:45:22
Well the matchmaking on csgo right now is not very good.
2012-10-20 01:46:00
And you haven't said why.
2012-10-20 01:47:38
the matchmaking is good... it needs ELO (or whatever its called), thats for sure, but all in all, its good.

Hm Nexen.org, wasn't ESL's old Health bar GUI developed by them?
2012-10-20 01:45:36
Nexen was one of the first to build an overlay showing health/guns etc. I think it was first used in 2004.

http://media.fragster.de/site-media/upload/images/..

ESL used a different one and was developed by a Belgium guy.
2012-10-21 03:39:19
i hope it doesnt look as shit as sourceTV ingame
2012-10-20 01:45:42

1- they are working on it they have said
2-dunno
3-they also have said that the community should make their own competitive maps and people have but what we need to do as a community is forward these maps to the leauges.
4-dunno
5-they have stated they are working on it
6-dunno
7-you can have 2 flashes with right server config
8-community has to decide that, we need to forward to leauges even more that we dont want it.
10-Lets hope.

The great thing about eswc is that Valve have said that they will be there. Now if I where those pro players I would do my best to say everything that needs to be said to valve. They should all meet up and discuss what they should forward to valve when they seem them there. Beter to have a united scene than individual players saying individual things. Someone going should really set something up.

Also it is important people stil watch the streams instead of just gotv if it comes out because streaming due to advertisement is more important.

why not just add advertizing to GOTV? FPS games are not meant to be watched in streams, it is not an RTS with zoned action, even with something that prevents you from missing a kill there are too many things happening in a CS match (i.e. pop flashes, assists, smokes, fast pushes with nades, rotations, etc, etc).

Will be good to switch and watch the action yourself rather than having someone else dictate what you see. The guys streaming are doing a good job but much happier when im the director :/

maybe add mana to the players and stun? cant get worse than it is atm anyway. you can attract some war3 players this way too and your numbers will reach 10k almost.
2012-10-20 01:58:07
be careful what you say they probably listen to you if you give them more ideas to "attract" viewers :P
2012-10-20 02:11:43
They should add a Rage Mode if the player is with only 1 hp, making him move faster and aim more easily to the opponents' heads

why does valve support a VG captain to help with creating csgo tv? why does he have the credentials over other top players? howcome nobody brought this up yet? i'd prefer to have a 1.6 player update go tv.
2012-10-20 16:51:33
lol.....
2012-10-20 16:53:32
ultimate facepalm. cooperation with regnam (ie. his knowledge from progaming streams etc.) is much better than the silly brain knowledge of HPE employee (not employee, in HPE, they are rather morons)
2012-10-20 17:53:12
I agree, I prefer a source guy than a HPE dev that doesn't know a thing about the game, but it is a slap in the face for the 1.6 communnity, Valve/HPE keeps ignoring it.

its a little bit weird that everytime a change is made is in cooperation of a source guy and not a 1.6 player.

Valve seems to be ignoring 1.6ers for quite a while now. I hope you help improving the mess CSGO is atm, GL.

I played CS on every version at a competitive level since 1.3. I think I know more than most of people here what's needed for CSGO to be better.

All I want is CS to be sucessful in eSport.

PS: Look at my userid I am also a former professional player so don't worry I know what I am doing :)

2012-10-21 20:47:31
true that, they keep ignoring the 1.6 community
2012-10-22 13:19:41
CSGOTV is like HLTV in 1.6 right ?
2012-10-21 16:44:51
yea
2012-10-21 20:49:51
Yes but better
2012-10-22 13:20:04
they haven't released info about it, no one knows what it is going to be...
2012-10-22 13:23:09
HLTV in 1.6 was more than shit and don't even try to deny that. Whatever its going to be, its still won't as bad as in 1.6
2012-10-22 13:27:59
shit? lol, HLTV is great for its purposes, I personally don't need anything more than a better autodirector and maybe a better overlay.

you must be one of those 1.6 haters lurking hltv.org now. HLTV had been the best spec feature in eSports for ages.

I didn't say that HLTV is bad, I said that in 1.6 its bugged and a lot of people said that a million times. But sure you're going to say otherwise since you got your head stuck in your ass for a while now judging by your post. And to make things better just post some stats to me, maybe I will say otherwise and tournaments will pick 1.6 once again
2012-10-22 13:55:01
lol, the butthurt levels are strong in this one.
2012-10-22 13:59:35
Truth hurts, thats why some people deny it. Source is bad and 1.6 not better right now
2012-10-22 14:03:31
actually 1.6 is still superior than Source and GO, look at the stats.
2012-10-22 16:30:56
Why I have feeling that this feature isnt going to be for free. Pretty much same thing as in Dota 2, we will need to pay "tickets" for watching live matches and demos from particular tournaments.

Hopefully I'm wrong.
2012-10-22 14:01:07
It will be free. It is Valve not EA.

Any insider info you can throw out Regnam? Or anywhere we can pick anything up from :P I just hope its more involved than SourceTV as that was a bitch realistically for commentators to flick between players and for spectators to view all the action!
2012-10-22 17:47:56
Only thing I will say is that Valve is doing a fantastic job and listen community more than you think.
2012-10-22 17:59:30
No point saying that on hltv they think everything comes overnight + they dont care even if csgo is perfect they just mad their tetris game is deadened, good to hear that from a credible source though =p

2012-10-22 18:17:37
hahah, lmao. 1.6 has more players than GO, in fact there are not more than 16K playing GO at the same time that means GO is the less successful CS title.

and GO is FAR from perfect, people don't want to play crappy games only because they are '"new"'.
