DreamHack has announced more info regarding the $45,000 CS:GO tournament taking place at the winter edition of the Swedish event, naming six invited teams and announcing qualifiers.
Sixteen teams will take part in the tournament running November 22-24 in Jönköping, Sweden. Ninja in Pyjamas and fnatic qualified by winning DreamHack Valencia and Bucharest respectively. The organizers now release the names of six invites teams, making the participants list look as follows:
NiP |
fnatic |
ESC Gaming |
mousesports |
WinFakt |
Team TargetDown |
VeryGames |
Team Dynamic |
Another two teams will be invited at a later stage, making it a total of eight invited teams. Regarding the invite process Tomas Hermansson from DreamHack stated:
"In a new game like CS:GO we're obviously not inviting teams based on previous results and achievements. This is a totally new competitive scene and we’re looking for established organisations and find a good mix of countries, skill and competition. The last two invited teams will probably be non-European both of them"
Regarding qualifiers, there will be three of them, one of which will take place here on HLTV.org. One qualifier will be hosted by Fragbite.se and restricted to Swedish teams only. One slot for DreamHack Winter will be up for grabs. A qualifier restricted to Danish teams will be hosted by Gaming.dk and will also have one slot for DreamHack Winter.
Our qualifier will have two slots and will not have any country restrictions. More info about our as well as the other qualifiers will be announced soon.
More info surrounding the tournament has also been announced, such as the casting lineup on site in Jönköping. The casting team will consist of:
Corey "ConsiderIt_dunN" Dunn
Paul "ReDeYe" Chaloner
Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen
Patrik "cArn" Sättermon (Extra)

The BYOC qualifier, which will qualify the last two teams of the 16 participants will on November 22, find more info on how to register by clicking here.
Additional info regarading the $45,000 CS:GO tournament at DreamHack Winter can be found by going here.
But i have this feeling that they are going to be incredible unlucky, losing to every team 16-0.
Also should invite 1 more team from usa imo. And are the uk team still in mouz?

Keep dreaming boy. If it's good, it should've been big since the start. Before that 'some time' has taken place, there will already be a new better FPS game ready to replace CSGO.

You should step down before you embarrass yourself, at least mouz.de have a chance to place at the top.
Wunderbar :D X
Anyways, I hope mouz.org will swap you with mouz.de, that'll only be fair.
I doubt you will do well against the 1.6 pro teams/players, they had much more competence through the years, it is not Source where you only had to deal with 2-3 teams with sponsors.
Let's see if you enlighten my days by getting at least top 8, champ.
The players were bad and not 1.6'ers:
nickn0it
Volcano
zet
rambo
Warmach1ne
paradox
...... etc
Not to mention that Rambo and Volcano weren't winning anything after 2005 when coL was founded (and won everything in the USA) and zet who was a beast at the time lost his 1.6 skill due to CSS.
And if you read again what I wrote you will notice that I didn't say none 1.6 pros weren't playing Source, I said they weren't taking it seriously, the 1.6 top teams from that time didn't include americans FYI :)

go winfakt !
VG wins more than likely
Post edited 2012-10-25 16:14:28
There is no possibility for nip to get single round against VG now.
However i do think VG have a very strong chance of winning it but so do NiP.
NiP > VeryGames 2-0
LOL, 1.6 teams >> Source teams in GO atm.
Nip won verygames when they had barely played the game, when they had played months together. Its CS:GO skill that may provide NIP a victory in DH winter, but CS 1.6 Skills doesnt matter nor do tetris skills. CS:GO is a newgame where former CSS players have currently large advantage over dinosaurtime gamers. Sad but true
bad troll is bad.
And yet they invite the UK mouz instead of the Germans? And what is fnatic doing there, they have not played a single GO match yet, wtf.
fnatic won the DH Bucharest
That is why... Read with understanding please.
How would inviting a german team that actually has shown strong results in csgo make for less of a mixture as opposed to inviting a polish one? Or what about inviting FM.toxic that won the UK ESWC qualifier?
LOL :D JOkE

cs:go simple requires so much more skill than easy cs 1.6 did that former cs 1.6 can't handle it
Post edited 2012-10-25 17:03:08
*Getting annoyed by cadred.org joining hltv.org or something like that..*
face it, the competence and profesionalism of the 1.6 teams is 10 times bigger than the one of the Source teams.
stay in cadred posting excuses about why the 1.6 teams are winning the tournaments please.

Did you even read the statement?
they invited the most famous organizations from different countries.
ESC was like unbeatable for years, thats why people talk about them losing a match. The result of that match however is very meaningless to determine who wins EPS Poland.
Post edited 2012-10-25 18:15:30
POLSKA POLSKA POLSKA
if you need to invite a mouz lineup then invite mouz.de.
Post edited 2012-10-25 17:50:53
and why them? I want Area 51 ... ;/

f0rest and GeT_RiGhT r playing for NiP dude..
Are you sure about this?
also Can someone help me by telling me who rahim is...
duNn is outdated, this is not 2002 where CS was all about shooting styles and controlling your recoil. You need much more than that now, so in lack of commentators with good understanding of the game I'm chosing Rahim, 9 times out of 10.
Good shit we got lurppis and cArn this time though.

Wonder why they invited ESC instead of Drunken Globus for example.
edit : and to all crazy polish people out there, ofc i wanna see ESC there, but they havent done anything in CS:GO to deserve this invite slot.
