ESWC France group draw
The Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) has announced the group pairings for the French qualifier next week.
The French ESWC qualifier will be played in the first three days of the Paris Games Week (October 30th to November 1st), with a total of eight teams contesting the one spot in the world finals later that week.
Millenium, who are led by veteran Steeve "Ozstrik3r" Flavini, have been handed a relatively easy task, while VeryGames will have to work hard to make it out of the groups after being paired with Gametoo and eXtensive!.

yeah the best source players cant even hit top 50 in 1.6, look at GuardiaN. NiP was carried by the 1.6 players, the 2 sourcers were the worst as expected, check the stats.

sauce_is_bed made it pretty clear, SIXER & MAJ3R were 1.6 top players, and for now 1.6 players proved better on cs:go than source players so there's no reason why with some practice verygames would resist them. No matter how good they were on source.

come on, spain never was better than France in 1.6. France was not really a top country, but it sure had great players that could compete internationally, if you knew something about cs you'd base your judgement about their matches instead of their ranking.

fifflaren and friberg in NiP are as equally important as f0rest and lets say Xizt in the team. Without the two of them, i don't think that NiP would have beaten VG and stand where they are now

And really, Spain/France ain't discussable. Spain always had like 4/5 really good players, and when these players happened to be in the same team then spain would barely get a top15 team, while France most of the time had 10 quality players, most often 1 top10 team (and always a top15 team), and up to 4 teams that would regularly show up at international events.

Besides, even though unlike France, Spain never won an international event, this is irrelevant to me. Huge players like karrigan, fRiis, moddii, etc... never won anything before joining a big team, which shows that there may be top players even in countries that don't win big tourneys.

2/ Emulate! was a top team, even the likes of f0rest said they respected them and considered them and particularly mSx as a threat (I know you're almost a cs legend yourself but don't take it personally if I rely more on f0rest's opinion than on yours.)
3/ France > Spain anytime, I backed up my point but you never did, saying "spain = france" don't make it a point. Again, the French scene always was stronger, always had more quality players, and most often the best French team defeated Spain's best team when they met. Plus France always did pretty well in ENC and CBNC while Spain sucked at it (btw France also won a CBNC against Sweden.)
4/ France did have top players at every ages of cs (Oligan, KabaL, latOr, dim2k in the first times; then MaT-, mSx, MAJ3R, SIXER... all of them were top players and if you've seen them play and that you know something about cs, you immediately see that they're insane players (again, GeT_RiGhT himself said a few times how much he respected SIXER, and LUq said countless time SIXER was the awper he hated the most playing against.)

Dude France won WCG 2007 with emLuate and they had top teams with GOodGame and aAa in 2002-2004.
