Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund has explained that the reason Ninjas in Pyjamas will not attend the fourth season of SLTV StarSeries is because he will have to go under the knife in December.
The Swedish team surprisingly announced on Thursday that they would skip the $15,000 league, whose LAN finals are scheduled for December 20th-23rd in Kiev, stressing that a statement explaining the decision would be released at a later time.
In his video blog on Youtube, Alesund revealed that he will undergo surgery on December 17th after suffering a ear infection back in May which has never fully healed.
As a result, he experienced around 45 per cent hearing loss in one ear, and if the problem is not treated properly, he may suffer further complications in the future, such as complete loss of hearing in one ear, complete loss of sight in one eye, and loss of smell.

GeT_RiGhT has been battling an ear infection for six months now
After being operated on, the Swedish star will not be able to travel by plane for around a month, and even though he will not be able to wear a headset for up to 10 days, he will still practice with the team.
Despite the fact that NiP will skip SLTV StarSeries, it is still possible that they will be in action at NorthCon, which will take place between December 14th-15th in Germany.
Volume 0.01 pls :D gl GTR

Hope he makes full recovery
If he plays with volume x and now he can hear only 65% of the x, turn x up 45% = +-0?
If something's at 55% of normal, increasing it by 45% brings it up to 79.75%, that is 0.55x1.45.
The correct calculation in this case is 0.45/0.55, which gives you 0.818, rounded up to 0.82. When you know that, you can do 0.55x1.82, and you'll get 1.001, which is rounded down to 1. Ergo, you're at 100%
Oh shit, just read again what you said and, sorry. lol
though i added some information

Yea but we are not increasing his hearing but the lvl of volume... His hearing is 55% of normal but the volume is still 100%. So your not adding 45% to the 55% but the 100% of the volume which is still the same.
Dumbass :)
Audiolevel is 100%, aka 1. Increase by 45%, aka 0.45
1+0.45=1.45
GTR's hearing with the right ear reduces that by 45%, meaning his hearing ends up at 55% of nominal
1.45x0.55=0.7975=79.75%, as in my original calculation.
You still need an 82% increase in the scenario. Easy math to calculate and verify.

of the eardrum
either that, or use a headset that has holes so air can travel, but as you can see, most CS tournaments kinda force you use closed-ear headsets like the Steelseries 7H , or the on-stage Noise-Cacelling Sennheiser Headsets .
so basicly, using closed-headsets for too many consecutive hours could in theory lead to an ear infection.
The doc must have a lot of guts to knife GeT_RiGhT. He must be Dr. GuT_RiGhT! :P
And, what I wrote was that it CONTRIBUTES by creating a nice environment for bacteria and viruses to thrive. Not to mention that the headphones themselves tend to pick up a lot of gunk.... Scrape with your nail across the cups sometime and you'll see...
however, playing CS in tournaments pretty much forces you to use closed-air because of the ambient sounds.
"Headphones and ear infections" to my knowledge, is more of a wives' tale. There are cases where...someone didn't realize the plastic ear tips to their headphones became dislodged in their ear and later caused an infection. But just "listening to headphones" isn't likely to cause an infection.

Get well soon!
Still pwning like a boss.
So HLTV.org makes a news post about it.
Some dysfunctional family eh!
Get well soon gtr! Need you back in action buddy! Giving all the other teams a chance at least :P
Whats wrong with that, there is 1000's of trolls writing way worser things and dont say "Just kidding" afterwords.

-.-
Next time avoid your trashing and most likely all will be fine.
and what if I would use steelseries headset and got earinfection, and I would write it, would it be removed again? just hypothetically speaking.
As said, there was just trashing and nothing else in your message. No, no saying that you were just kidding.
Not that it would help anyway as you associate two different things in a pejorative way.
If you included best wishes for GeT_RiGhT too, well, that did not help to clean the already existing mess.
And the same would apply if you cheaply associate you using a SS headset and getting an ear infection.
All the sudden SS would be responsable for the personal hygiene of their customers too?

Mock HLTV.org because of what the site decides to post news about isn't just asking. And you know as well as I do.

That's pretty bad wording.
go to watch life for example in Haiti and you will realise that get_right situation ain't that bad after all

"he may suffer further complications in the future, such as complete loss of hearing in one ear, complete loss of sight in one eye, and loss of smell."
He still would hear with one ear, he still would see with one eye and sense of smell isn't really needed in live. Get_right situation isn't bad at all even if (worst happened) he would loose one eye, ear and sense of smell. You should not feel sad for him, you should feel sad for those who actually suffers a lot like most people in Haiti.
Those people who can't or don't understand feel sympathy for people who live in places like Haiti (Get_right have things REALLY WELL compared to them) makes this world bad and really bad things really dont change..

OK.
And my point was also that this thing can't ruin his life. he still will be able to see and hear.
Players little personal issues should not be added to HLTV news.
