Time: 2012-12-27 20:46
Game: Counter-Strike 1.6

iMpulse has defeated q.Dominion to win 5,000 AED (~$1,360) the first of three Golden Hall Counter-Strike 1.6 tournaments taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Nine teams competed in the first of three Alienware sponsored tournaments in Dubai, with iMpulse going undefeated in the tournament to clinch the 5,000 AED (~$1,360) first place prize.

Second place went to q.Dominion, who lost against iMpulse in the upper bracket semi-finals before fighting their way through the lower bracket all the way to the grand final.

The most notable team attending this time was GameHolics who have previously taken part in the IEM Global Challenges held in Dubai. Karnal.MY has been rumoured as a team possibly attending Golden Hall Silver Round.

Golden Hall Bronze Round final standings:

1. iMpulse - 5,000 AED (~$1,360)
2. q.Dominion - 2,500 AED (~$680)
3. GameHolics - 1,250 AED (~$340)

Golden Hall Silver Round is rumoured to be taking place on January 15 and will offer 17,500 AED (~$4,765) in prizes, followed up by Gold Round with 40,000 AED (~$10,890).

Isn't NaVi planning on attending one of these tournaments? It would make sense to go to the Gold tournament because of the payout and plus Dubai seems like a cool place to visit :D. But they did drop out of the ASUS FBoTY tournament, so perhaps they aren't attending any more 1.6 tournaments.

na`vi skipped asus fboty because markeloff couldn't attend (his brother got married that weekend), so it's possible(?) they might go, especially since this tournament is sponsored by alienware, who also sponsor na`vi and have flown markeloff (twice) and ceh9 to dubai previously for shootouts.
