3DMAX have announced that Tomas "xlo" Falden has stepped down from the active lineup and retired from gaming.
The Danish team were already on the lookout for a new player after losing Dennis "vnG" Vang just days before NorthCon.
At the German event, 3DMAX played with Kristian "tabaco" Simonsen as a stand-in, crashing out of the tournament in the second group stage after finding themselves in a two-way tie with fm-eSports TOXiC.
3DMAX have now been left with a three-man roster as Tomas "xlo" Falden has put an end to his days in the esports world to focus on his job.
"It has been almost nine really exciting and interesting years of gaming for me, those years have brought me a lot of experiences, allowed me to meet amazing and interesting people and allowed me to grow not only as a gamer but as a person," Falden told 3DMAX's website.
"I take satisfaction in knowing how much I have gained from all the years I have spent playing and how much of it I have already integrated into different areas of my work.
"The reason I have decided to stop is based on my future: I will after the New Year become a partner in a company that creates websites, and I have to focus my time and attention towards the growth of that company.
"I would like to thank all the people that have supported me and my teams throughout the years and I want you to know that I really appreciate the support!"
3DMAX are in a hurry to find the last two players as they are due to tackle k1ck in the quarter-finals of the ESL Major Series on Sunday.
The Danish team have included Simonsen and Malte "Herden" Boelt, a former member of Copenhagen Wolves, in their roster for that match, though there has not been any announcement about either player joining the squad on a permanent basis.
3DMAX currently have:
Søren "socN" Falke
Kristoffer "gravityy" Søholm
Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen
