Video: Top 10 CS1.6 highlights of 2012 
Now that 2012 has come to an end, we at HLTV.org have put together a video showing the top 10 highlights of the year in CS 1.6.
Ever since CS:GO was released, the focus of the community - and also of this website - has shifted to the new game, but we at HLTV.org will never forgot how we got here, so we have a special treat for all those who followed the 1.6 scene throughout all these years.
In this video, which was produced by Igor "razor" Pudovkin, you will see frags from not only big-name players, such as Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg, Filip "Neo" Kubski and Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund, but also from some lesser known players from across the globe.
Stay tuned to our website for more insane action, as our video with the best CS:GO highlights of the year will be released later in the week.

CS 1.6. I had quit actually playing years ago to be honest. But I still liked to follow the competitive scene. It almost became ...routine. Just get home from work hop on and watch some 1.6 matches! Its to bad my childhood game is gone, competitively anyway. Hopefully CSGO can do things for the new players coming to it that 1.6 did for me! Endless hours of enjoyment from start to finish. Not to mention some great laughs at LAN and online on vent with my teammates:) I played with the same group of peope for almost 6 years straight. I knew a lot about them like any normal friend would regardless of never having actually met them. That to me is amazing. Hope GO can do that for all the other young aspiring players like I was in 1.6

Funny how people are posting "RIP", "enjoyed playing this game, will miss it". While to them, nothing has changed. As if all the possibilities of them attending tournaments and travelling around the world have ended, they need to say goodbye. No, not the slightest. What you guys did on CS 1.6 is still bigger than any other Counter Strike in the market.

I don't think the 1.6 movie is much much better, I think that the csgo one has too much contrast making it difficult to see some frags (moviemakers decision).

Sorry, I think my point was not clear. I was not comparing the movie maker's editing or how it looked. CS:GO looks brilliant, it's brilliant to see how technology has developed and you can play games with such brilliant looking environment and physics. Although, I was just comparing the frags and the 'enjoyment' I got looking at both the videos. While CS:GO looks brilliant, the video bored me. Guy stands behind a wall and just sprays down 5 people 50 yards away without any sort of dodging. That to me is pure dull. While on 1.6, every frag was exciting and as fresh as ever even though the game is 12 years old and the colours are injected into my eye sockets. It felt fresh! It is like I can not expect anything more from CS:GO. It's obviously how I feel and my personal opinion about CS:GO.

I think it's ridicolous that zneel did get that first place. I mean, the frags are for sure stunning BUT its against a random mix @ the playnation ladder which is basically a practice clan war site. The severity of the matches there can be compared to a random gather which you play with your IRL mates. Take in mind that players like f0rest,GT,moddi etc also probably have done these kind of frags although it's not worth showing because its against random peoples on unofficial matches. So in my opinion there was other frags which deserved higher placings.
And btw, don't you guys think that karrigan's AWP 1on5-try against Na'Vi @ train deserved a place among the top 10 highlights?
