Disclaimer: From February 2020 until January 11 2021 the founders of Better Collective, via their venture capital fund Bumble Ventures A/S, were minority shareholders of Astralis Group holding less than 2.5% of the shares.

The journalists of HLTV.org worked completely independently of Bumble Ventures A/S and always had the same journalistic freedom as they have always had to report on Astralis Group as they would any other esports organisation. Nothing was changed in that regard.

On June 29th 2023, HLTV's parent company Better Collective has proposed René Rechtman' as a new board member, with an election scheduled for August 8.

René Rechtman is currently a board member of Blast ApS, the company behind the BLAST tournament series. As a board member of Better Collective, Rechtman will not be involved in the daily operations of the company and is considered independent in relation to Better Collective and its shareholders.

Additionally, should a matter arise that includes HLTV and BLAST and it is discussed at the board level, Rechtman will step out as the matter is being dealt with. As such, Better Collective sees no conflict in Rechtman's involvement with BLAST, and HLTV retains its integrity both as media and as a part of the Better Collective group, with the board committed to protecting its best interest.
