60 HZ but smoother?
Portugal nownz
so my friend and i use 60 hz monitors but his monitor when playing csgo seems much smoother and we both have decent fps why?
2016-06-16 01:42
Maybe because of sensitivity? His monitor is overclocked? Graphics card?

can i overclock my monitor?
2016-06-16 01:44
Depends on the type of monitor, laptop or "real" monitor If its 60Hz most of the "real" monitors can be overclocked to 75Hz If you're on a laptop just forget it
2016-06-16 01:45
can i ? =D

it can ruin ur monitor doe
2016-06-16 01:55
no it can't there is not a single case ever of ruining a monitor because of 75hz

it can it lowers the life span of the monitor by 10-20%
2016-06-16 20:27
no it doesn't? The monitor is designed to run at 60Hz for the best picture quality. Some monitors (like mine) have visible refresh bars on the screen if there is a solid colour on the screen (not noticable unless the screen is black or blue) at 75Hz

type in your launch options -w 800 -h 600 -freq 75 and tell me if its smoother than othe resolutions because 800x600 by defualt is a 75hz resolution
2016-06-16 02:00
What monitor do you have?

You don't even need to overclock for 75hz with that monitor , you can change it to 75hz in resolution options :)
2016-06-16 02:09
lmao
2016-06-16 07:30
What's the problem? I had the same monitor and 75 hz is the default refresh rate .
2016-06-16 09:34
Its just funny how he didnt see that

2016-06-16 20:07
i don't think so, overclocking monitor will easily burn it and destroy the screen
2016-06-16 10:27
lol nice b8 putin
2016-06-16 21:17

maybe your monitor has much higher response time
2016-06-16 09:54
the eye can only see 24 fps anyway so its obviously a placebo effect.
2016-06-16 09:55
the eye can only see 600 dpi anyway so its obviously a placebo effect.
2016-06-16 20:08
I overclocked mine to 75hz and is smoother indeed, search at youtube

Probably has vertical sync enabled.
2016-06-16 20:13
best answer yet *note that vsync can add a lot of input lag
2016-06-16 20:32
If u have vsync -2 or 3 fps it has almost no lag btw 117fps @ 120 Hz for example
2016-06-16 21:13
true "can" i said:)

2016-06-16 20:28
the eye can only see 10 fps anyway so its obviously a placebo effect.

2016-06-16 21:18
monitor ghosting can make movement look smooth, but its basically motion blur.
2016-06-16 23:49
maybe his monitor is 5ms and your is 10ms nah mean?
2016-06-16 23:50
