Hey guys! I have a i5 3470(Ivy Bridge), now I rly need to update this, what processor do you recommend me for csgo? i5 4690k? i5 6600? Another one? TY
2016-08-31 20:52
Topics are hidden when running Sport mode.
i have i5 6600 i get about 150-300 fps
2016-08-31 20:53
graphic card?
2016-08-31 20:58
gtx 960
2016-08-31 21:18
960 or 960 4G?
2016-08-31 21:27
4g
2016-08-31 21:50
I have i5 6600 GTX 960 and my fps never goes below 280
2016-09-01 14:05
lol how
2016-09-01 14:28
youtube.com/watch?v=425WAm4zJvo i get the same fps as in the video
2016-09-01 14:32
lmao, im on i5 6600 and gtx 750ti and i get 250-300fps stable
2016-09-01 14:35
u have a ssd?
2016-09-01 14:39
nope
2016-09-01 14:46
maybe you have some fucked up settings in bios or whatever, try resetting everything to default? (Im shit at computing so its just my wild guess)
2016-09-01 14:48
wow that ultra low ;o Did you try with turn on Multicore rendering ?

That's normal actually. Turn off fraps and don't run locally with bots and you'll get 300 fps stable in mm.
2016-09-01 14:56
thats not my video
2016-09-01 14:59
really,never drops under 280 in a 5v5 match,cool story
2016-09-01 15:15
2gb of vram is enough, check sites for performance and youll see
2016-09-02 07:06
First off, you dont need a CPU upgrade. Second, if you get yourself another i5 its at most going to be 15-20% better in singlethreaded tasks at the very most - In csgo, you cant even expect any noticeable framerate increase! Your current CPU is perfectly capable of running CSGO. I have the same chip but the K version and i sit at 400fps in MM + 280fps average on full ffa DM. My GPU is r9 390. So no, you dont need an upgrade.
2016-09-02 00:19
i have r9 270x what I need to update to get stable +250fps?
2016-09-02 05:14
You should already have it. Check with HWMonitor if you're overheating anywhere while gaming.
2016-09-02 06:23
i5-3570k r9 270x /max fps 300, never drops, without cap 350-500. obviously don't play maxed graphics, that's just wierd.
2016-08-31 22:46
i dont play maxed graphics 1024 all low
2016-08-31 22:46
guess the gpu is capping then?
2016-08-31 22:50
what?
2016-08-31 22:52
nvm

I was don't know about this details
2016-09-01 15:15
cant be, i got i3 4330 and 960 2gb version, playing on 1920x1080 and max settings and getting 160-220 fps, and even when i switch to low settings and resolution i get same fps, prooving that gpu isnt the bottleneck
2016-08-31 22:59
Try to enable multicore rendering
2016-09-01 15:04
lol thanks i get about 500 fps on dust2 without any bots
2016-09-01 15:08
lmao u really didnt turn that shit on from the start of? xD
2016-09-01 15:08
i always had everything on low and off at video settings :D
2016-09-01 15:10
lmao, disabled multicore rendering basically disables help from other cores, making it single core only untill you enable it
2016-09-01 15:11
thanks for the help :D so nice to have 500 fps :DD

its impossible that with this setup u get stable 300 on 18-22man deathmatch, dont shit us bro :D
2016-09-02 00:18
I have i5 3470 and a gtx 960 2gb and I get roughly the same...no point in doing such an upgrade for the guy, better upgrade from i5 to i7,if not, then there is no point for him.
2016-08-31 23:26
i have 4660 with 750ti and i get almost double your fps. something wrong in your bios.

yea 14€ cheaper but when you add a mobo with it, suddenly the i5 4690k is 100€ cheaper.

for cs go ur processor is not that bad,if u have a good gpu u should get decent fps...u'll not notice much difference in raw performance with ur upgrade.. but if u insist on upgrading then ofc u should go for newer 6600k.
2016-08-31 21:30
dont get a 4690, its last gen. get 6600. basically same price, better performance, support and future proofing

A 6600k is 12% faster than my older 2500k at stock and you recommend an upgrade? Please tell us where your CPU reaches its limit. I doubt there are any, except you are streaming/rendering alot. If so, a 6 Core would be better. Save your money for a better GPU, makes alot more sense, most of the games are GPU limited, even CSGO.

csgo is the most cpu-bound game ever lol. even last gen intel hd gpu's are enough when you have a nice cpu. it's always 300 fps.

Ok, I tested it today since i got my new 1070. i5-2500k 4,5GHz + GTX 670: 144fps i5-2500k 3,3GHz + GTX 670: 132fps <10% Increase with 30% more clock? and now: i5-2500k 4,5GHz + GTX 670: 144fps i5-2500k 4,5GHz + GTX 1070: 297fps i7-4710HQ 3,3GHz + GTX 980M: 155fps i7-4710HQ 3,3GHz + HD4000: 33fps tested on a map called "FPS Benchmark", Full HD, everything on low. GPU matters. and most cpu bound game ever? dont forget ArmA 3 :D

you don't need to upgrade an i5. even 2500k is more than enough (for cs)
2016-08-31 22:55
+1 absolutely no need to update. i5 performance is basically the same the last 3 generations (4th to 6th)... maybe upgrade to 7th generation if it's going to be any better increase in performance.
2016-08-31 23:22
I've got i5-6600 + gtx 960 2g and cs:go with max graphics except msaa(I am using SweetFX) 4:3 1024x768 stretched and my fps don't go under 250.
2016-08-31 22:55
A new CPU will likely not give you much of an improvement, you could overclock your current CPU. Which GPU are you using and what frames are you getting with your current setup?
2016-08-31 22:56

i5-6500 + very old NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 1GB 1280x720, ALL LOW ~300 fps (450-260)

i5 2500K @ 4.5GHz GTX 770 FPS ~300 Why would he upgrade??
2016-09-01 15:13
upgrade = waste of money for sure
2016-09-01 15:13
U can superclock the 6600
2016-09-02 06:42
why upgrade unless ur overclocking. 4690k to 6600k is like 5% perf gain.
2016-09-02 06:51
focus on gpu, ive looked at stats for csgo and gpu matter more for the most part
