1.6 legends, that playing in CS:GO
World sir1337
Let's make a list of 1.6 legends that still playing Counter-Strike. I'll start: Taz, Neo, n0thing, f0rest, GeT_RiGhT ...

Well, he hasn't streamed in like 2 months but he still has hours in Steam so I'm gonna guess he plays when he has the time.
2016-09-29 01:16
You can see Spawn playing pretty often on Proxor's stream (Swedish pugger, has like 50-100 viewers on every stream) and he plays with old legends a lot, you can even see Heaton with them sometimes!
2016-09-30 13:05
Edward Zeus Markeloff GTR Not considering legends as the guys you mention, but during there prime they are somewhat legends.

Markeloff is definetly a legend as big as the ones OP mentioned.
2016-09-27 12:10
markeloff at his peak in 1.6 was definitely at the same level as neo, f0rest, get right and so on..
2016-09-27 12:10
I mean more that people i mention during their peak were mostly late of the 1.6 era. And OP mentions most from the earlier era (nothing is questionable).

forest get right from the earlier era??? what drugs are you on? f0rest started in 06 when he switched from Begrip to fnatic and gtr around started to be recognized on 07-08, but was a star in 09 first. Early era... n0thing is obv not a legend
2016-09-27 22:00
f0rest peak was pretty much mid 1.6 history

That's debatable. I say his first real peak was in 09 which isn't mid 1.6 history. Yeah, he was great back in 05/06 winning WEG, but that wasn't his best times in CS imo.

Navi and mTw from 2009-2010 played some of the highest level of 1.6 period. Watch pro games from 2001 to early 2004. The level of aim and even acceptable strategies would never work in 2006 pro cs.

I'd add mTw 2008 as well. That was the sickest defense we've ever seen in CS history.

fris legend.. I LOLED fris played only in one good team, it was fnatic in 2011~2012 when 1.6 was dying. At that time 1.6 legends like gux and cArn retired.
2016-09-27 12:47
gux legend I loled
2016-09-28 02:34
k newfag
2016-09-28 07:42
newfag lol I started playing cs in 2002. gux was known in like... 2009.. he was good at the end of 1.6. unlike spawn heaton potti ahl zet fisker etc. gux was good, yes. but he is not legend he was only good when the best legends stopped playing.
2016-09-28 11:48
I started playing from 1.3 ver so it was ~2001 since you mention date get_right also started "playing" after 2009 and somehow we can name him as legend refereeing to the topic. If we would speak only about 1.6, I would never give examples as gux or get_right, because they showed up late. HeatoN is cs legend but his achievements are only from 2001~2004.
2016-09-28 13:01
kennyS is cs go legend.. we shouldn't have to take 35y/o in account for naming legends lol. gux 1.6 legend yes if i read this canadian guy i cringe a little. cs gameplay was 5 times more evolved in the end than in the beginning lol.
2016-09-29 01:49
I nmever mentioned ghet right but ok. but yes get right was an impact fragger and also he started pro cs in 2007 in begrip so 2 years before gux.
2016-09-29 06:33
begrip in 2007~2008 was nothing more than swedhish mix without achievements gux played in blank before 2009 with snajdan face jumpy niko
2016-09-29 08:24

apart from saving them from losing their Major Legends spot and streak(Device, Xyp9x, Dupreeh*)

2016-09-30 13:52
Who could've replaced Dupreeh against Dignitas in Cologne? Obv not you or me. The guy actually has Pro CS experience and is their coach/2nd IGL.
2016-09-30 14:23
Its not because of him they won, anybody else could do better
2016-09-30 14:48
Anybody else? Like who that was available?
2016-09-30 15:20
would be the same 4on5 or take one from the audience
2016-09-30 16:47
Yes, because everyone from the audience knows how to speak Danish, is or has been pro, bootcamped with Astralis and basically their 2nd IGL? You're going against MSL, Tenzki, CajunB, K0nfig and RUBINO, you think a random would get 10 kills? Let alone 5 kills?

Played in EvilGeniuses etc, he accomplished alot.
2016-09-27 13:27
EvilGeniuses was the best NA team in a dead scene. They accomplished nothing internationally. They were even regularly beaten by the tier-2 Brazilian team that FalleN was on. If fRoD and co. hadn't returned to 1.6 you probably wouldn't even remember what team n0thing was on.
2016-09-27 13:46
they won msi beat it thanks to n0thing raping fnatic on train
2016-09-27 13:52
I remember that match. A fluke win in a small, four team tournament doesn't make someone a legend. Plus, there were some lag issues that helped lurppis win a crucial clutch situation, and EG refused to replay the round. Things could have gone very differently...
2016-09-27 14:29
i didnt say it made him a legend, simply disprpving your statement that the "never accomplished anything in 1.6"
2016-09-27 14:37
I meant, didn't accomplish anything that would earn him the "legend" title

col was for sure the powerhouse of NA togheder with 3D. but after sunman switched to css i stopped following whole america scene :) Imo NoA was the best NA team
2016-09-27 14:40
NoA was a cool ass team
2016-09-27 14:43
1.6 times still means from late 2003 onwards and at that time NO way brazil was better than NA (early mibr, g3x > coL, 3D???)

3D won only wcg 2005 i think @ css. the rest won europeans mibr won ESWC & CPL at the same year
2016-09-27 14:44
3D also won WCG in 2004 and no mibr didnt win any "real" CPL only CPL Brazil and Chile
2016-09-27 15:29
MiBR won CPL Brazil,CPL Chile,ESWC, ShgOpen, DreamhackWinter 2007,GamerGune 2008, 2nd Place IEM Globals 2008 defeated by SK and won a IEM America Championship.
2016-09-29 02:13
and? they still didnt win any CPL with real competition...
2016-09-29 07:02
only CPL but the rest...
2016-09-29 20:16
i didnt say anything about the rest. your statement was pointless basically
2016-09-29 21:18
I'd say it was mostly because everyone on EG was underpreforming, besides fRoD and n0thing, who could always do some damage. EG went downhill after gfn left, as they couldn't find a proper replacement.
2016-09-27 14:37
True, EG was basically a bunch of bots + fRoD and n0thing. But unlike fRoD, n0thing usually crumbled versus good teams. He would run around owning tier-2 teams, which is why he was famous in the first place edit: also, you are right. gfn did totally revitalize that team. after he joined they looked way better internationally than they did previously. shame he randomly quit
2016-09-27 14:42
Maybe you are right about n0thing, he could just ruin an important round by some over-confident play. But still, he was the one and only player who could outaim players like f0rest/gtr/gux. Btw, do you remember the reason gfn quit?
2016-09-27 14:49
I think he was just tired of the gaming schedule. He quit to go backpacking through South America with his friends

I dont think there is that many real legends from 1.6 except Forest, Get_Right, Neo, TaZ, Edward, Markeloff Theres a lot of players from 1.6, but who didnt win anything spectacular in 1.6: Nothing, Fox, Moddii, Friis, Karrigan, Fallen, Niko, Mixwell, Savage, Hiko, chrisJ, WorldEdit, Delpan, Kioshima, and the list goes on, but its useless to make, cos most of them were nobodies or only had small victories.
2016-09-27 12:58
fnx got a major
2016-09-27 13:13
Alot of people you mention did win something spectacular in 1.6, but surely arent considered legends.
2016-09-27 13:16
MODDII was pretty good, and savage was well known during his tyloo days.. Delpan was considered one of the best awpers of all time, so I think he is definitely a legend

2016-09-27 13:36
i believe they still are, my guess is they dont wanna embarass themselves by playing matches immediately after coming back together and wanna improve their game to a certain level before playing for real

Same, it's a shame he went inactive after Team Property collapsed. Imagine if he continued his level from standing in for NiP and later on joined Kinguin with Maikel and Dennis or stuck around for Team Ancient/GODSENT to be formed.

He wasn't voted best awper of 2010, he was voted best awper OF GAMEGUNE 2010... HUGE difference. The best awper of 2010 was obviously markeloff.

My friend ;D Did you EVER checked the link of that trivia? hltv.org/news/4881-gamegune-2010-top-pla.. Scroll down and you will find the "Top awpers" part: "The best awper in this event was without a doubt k1ck's Pacheco with the highest total and average amount of kills with the big green. Second place, a bit surprisingly belongs, to aAa's Fabien "atLaNtis" Deguiraud who had a very good 0.31 awpKPR. It's also worth mentioning great awping by another fnatic member, Lindberg, as even though he didn't use the weapon often, he collected a big part of his 41 kills with it in the first map of the Final."
2016-09-27 23:34
still a legend, he played on a decently high level since like 2003
2016-09-28 12:08
best awper for 1 event yes. He was a good 1.6 player no doubt but markeloff was the best awper in 2010... I still agree fox is a portuguese legend only a few players from portugal and spain were ablke to play t1 level CS back then like fox and musamban1

I ask you again. can you read properly? "Let's make a list of 1.6 legends that still playing Counter-Strike." spawn still playing? robban still playing? zonic still playing? (he was a stand-in for 1 match, but he is not a pro player anymore) cogu still playing? Read the OP's post first, then type. All from your list are not playing CS anymore, they are not pro players anymore...

cogu was on a brazillian team robban is fazes coach zonic is a coach they all still play in rank s and fpl but not on a professional level. and cogu was on a tier 3000 team a couple months ago

coach =/= still playing cogu "WAS"... (you understood?) "Let's make a list of 1.6 legends that still playing Counter-Strike."
