DreamHack will most likely be one of the last tournament, which will drop CS1.6 from the game's list. In Sweden CS is probably the second most popular game, after SC2.

nope cs won`t be saved, promod is the game which has the most similarities with cs and will be cs successor that will give the player the feeling that they`re playing cs1.6 with better graphics

I didn`t say it`ll be as big as sc2 or lol , the point is to keep alive the cs community by giving them cs tournaments but as cs is dropping from tournaments by the time passes it`ll eventually fall down , and promod seems as a really good solution if companies are backing a 99'game for more than 10 years why not a similar game with much better graphichs which will attract a lot of players to continue playing the game.

exactly, no one missed WEM last year, dunno why some people keep acting like drama queens. CS is huge, not as popular as those new games that will not last more than a couple of years but still, we are as strong as ever. CS:GO is a joke IMHO, Valve is not even focused on improving the game even tho the CS:GO forums are full of posts bashing the stupid changes they made. CSP is our safer bet, they understand what made 1.6 as big as it is and they are working on things we need, unlike valve who are spending their time working on old mods (gungame, dm, etc) instead of improving the gameplay.

People saying CSPromod is our last chance... Even if the game becomes popular, sponsors still wont put money into the game because it will never be bigger than 1.6 or LoL, sc2 ect... Imo the only way the fps community can stay alive is if a new game is successful.
